muthaphukkabush
Again I'm being slightly racist but i wanna ask you ppl about the way black ppl talk in GTA and recently in New Orleans and such - with this long drawl and missed s's and r's and draw-ins - is it peculiar only to the black ppl or whites do actually talk like that? does it have phonetic, linguistic or physical/facial structural reasons? i am asking you this question bcoz i have seen quite a few of my american business parteners over the years talk like that, with this drawl and they're all black and now I see a higher degre of that in san andreas. pls if you can, clarify. btw at this point it might well be obvious why i'm so interested about racial and societal features in san andreas and so on - i'm recently doing a 6-month course on the sociology of race, just for fun and am writing a term paper on race (and i'll include san andreas in that if possible), so that's one reason, though all this is totally informal and all... c'ya! gta_player5
most likely the way they were brought up and just the enviroment they were exposed to and that surrounded them. nothing about theyre race has to do with it, white ppl even have that. because of the enviroment they were exposed to. simple as that, and no offense but please think next time before posting something like this. i know u said at the begining "im being slightly racist" but some ppl might take it more seriously and offensive
Slamman
I feel your title is somewhat racist, considering the question, be tactful, ya know. I have no accent I know of, but when I'm with my Mexican co-workers I can't help but talk with a slight Mexicano (fake Spanish??)-English accent, to help them understand I speak in simplified English sentances... It's somewhat amusing, but no one has accused me of anything. It's an old Steve Martin joke, live he would say he recently went to France, where they don't have the 'courtasy to speak English!', So thinking it would help, he adopted a French accent.... as the joke continues.. I find I do that out of habit really, Not sure why BILL

I must say you ppl in the USA have gone a VERY long way in rectifying the social problems associated with race, and I only hope the same true in Europe, specially in middle Europe. Thanks ppl! GTA3Freak-2001
Well its like any accent, it all depends on the area you were brought up in. For example most Australians can tell the differences between Australians from specific states. People form Melbourne have slight accent changes to that of people from Brisbane. It's all revelant to where you live/were brought up in.

51L3N7 4554551N
Well...at least they're not speaking a guttural Scottish accent Why shouldn't they? @GTA3Freak: Its the same with Scotland, my mum can tell a Glaswegian accent from and Edinburghan (sp?) one. I personally can't find any difference between the two
milkymilky
Well, now it's my turn to be racist...I have nothing against Scottish people in general...but it is obvious that there are two general accents. There is a soft accent (like Bill Connoly) and the more guttural and harsh accent (like Rab C Nesbitt). Maybe it's because I've been so scared by several drunk Scottish tramps on my travels that yell at me in the rough accent while they throw cans of McEwans at me that that's why I don't like it

original gangster
hello people. I have been talking to god anyway, like others have probably said, it's just the way you're bought up, if you were bought up in the ghetto, you learn it, as people will respect you more if you're like them, and not showing weakness. You are influenced by every thing and everyone around you. At a young age you learn off your surroundings and adapt. So you learn the accent of ghetto speak. Then people called it how black people talk, just because a lot of people in ghettos are black. But anyone can talk like ghetto, it's not just black people. however, for a language accent, lets take scottish for an example, you already have the accent, but you learn also from people around you. OG.

OG. Could not have put it better myself. I'm scottish (and proud), yet I speak with a more english accent. This is because I moved down here when I was little and have adapted to the people around me. It was dead funny at school though, everyone was asking me why I talk wierd, and if Scottish is a different language
