Minibikes

I like minibikes so i resized one of the custom streetbikes to be a minibike but the only thing is the hands and feet arnt on the handelbars......do I have to import the minibike and move the handlebar dummies? Or could someone tell me how to get the hands on the bars thankyou

no, as you can see it is still being bug-fixed, and it will not be a "legal" release because I think that he did not model that PCJ replacement.

 

In case he doesnt have the original PCJ, I will send him the original if asked so he can edit it as a mini bike and then release it.

But he could get in a bunch of trouble here if he releases that model without permission.

 

Appologies if you did model and release that bike originally, and very nice model btw wink.gif

There was someone who made some pocket bikes for VC and was meant to converting them for SA, never heard anything of them recently.

I have often tyhough about trying this as well, I think if you chang the anim type to the scooter you will be nearer the bars.

Looks good though.

yea i made a mini bike for sa its a scaled down pcj600 im working on getting cj sitting on it properly i dunno how to do it blush.gif

To fix this it's just move the dummies where he grips the bars/puts his feet.

 

I don't know the rules about model distribution without permission from the original creator completely (I just leave well enough alone is all), but i really think it'd be ok to email it to you. The rules seem more about not releasing and boasting a mod for download here without permission from the modeler wink.gif I'm sure it'd be ok for him to mail that to anyone who asks him for it and whom he'd like to send it to, but posting as a release and taking credit is against the GTAF staff set rules about this sort of thing. Even if youu credit the modeler, you still need their permission to release it first. Mailing is ok, that's like sharing with your friends.

It's impossible to fix perfectly. The positioning of CJ's limbs are governed by his animation sets, not where certain dummies are placed.

 

All you can do is try out which bike animation set looks the closest, and just go with that, but theres nothing you can do to pose his limbs beyond that.

in reply about permission I WILL NOT RELEASE THIS WITHOUT PERMISSION from the creator i just want to fix his arms and legs as close as possible their was an animation script by kam that would let me do this!! but the link is now broken(its on this forum) if anyone can send me the files or post the link i will get on it right away.....oh yeah i tried moving the dummies and that didnt work sad.gif if only it was that simple

just change the 13 in the date in the link to 16.

 

I had to do that cause in his sig or at that topic it said it was updated for the 16th, but it kept getting the 13, I changed it, low and behold, I have the script for the sixteenth wink.gif

 

And... I am pretty damn sure if you line those dummies up the right way, you may need to rig them where it seems they SHOULDNT be, but I think those dummies do infact govern the positioning of his hands. suicidal.gif

well i have played with moving the dummies and the "grip" dummie on the handelbars when its moved far back or to the right doesnt move cj's hands at all although the "ped_seat" dummie when repositioned fixed the first problem about cj's foot placement now i did get the ifp import script but it get and error when i try to load ifp files the error looks like this here

 

and in ther read me it says "if IFPioInfo == undefined then fileIn (scriptspath+"\\GTA_Tools\\IFPio_Fn.ms") quiet:true"

so what do i do? it doesnt make much sence

...ok so i have got ipf the scripts for 3dmax by kam and i can open up the bike animation file that i got from the gta3.img and i found the animation for the faggio, i import the faggio and import the player model for cj then import the "bikev" ipf file, apply the riding position to him and he takes the position as if he is riding the faggio then i move his hands just a little bit then i click the "replace", i close 3dmax and import and replace the new ipf file (with the new animation) with the one from the gta3.img and close the img tool go to start up sa spawn the faggio (minibike)and get on it and the game crashes blink.gif now what did i do wrong ?

It's my understanding that Kam's script will allow you to save

the .ifp out to your harddrive, but I don't think it has any

ability to export it to work ingame.

 

In other words, if you overwrite the particular anim within a

specific .ifp file, you are changing the .ifp file from what the

game recognizes...thus, crash.

 

I don't know of anyone who's gotten custom anims to work

in SA, but I'd be VERY happy if someone has and I'd like to

know how it was done! wink.gif

yeah i think you can add custom animations to sa because it was done with the minibikes in vc and i have replaced the minibikes animation file from vc in sa and it worked but cj's face was all screwed up.........so i think its possible

This looks really cool smile.gif. I can't wait to see the final release of it.
