You need to slightly cool it. If you can't find it, and then we have a little trouble finding it, then you have no right flipping on us, especsially when you worded yourself unclearly.

Luckily I'm pretty nice.

Go there, and Select PC -> The Sims and Expansions. For category select technical support, and in the search box enter 'requirements'. All of what you need to know should be there.

I am guessing if you installed every Expansion Pack you'd be looking at around 5GB+ I'd imagine since my collection a while back up to Hot Date was about 4GB in size and there's been about 2 or 3 other expansions on top of that.

Well there is ....

The Sims

The Sims: Livin' Large

The Sims: House Party

The Sims: Hot Date

The Sims: Vacation

The Sims: Unleashed

The Sims: Superstar

The Sims: Makin' Magic

The Sims 2

The Sims 2: University

The Sims 2: Nightlife

So 11 games altogether. And seeing how the newer they are the more features they have I would imagine they only increase in size. Given that 1-4 took up 4GB, it has to be around 12-18GB I would imagine.

If those answers aren't good enough for you, go to Amazon.com or to EA.com and look it up yourself.

I mean as I said I left the Sims at Hot Date so I haven't the foggiest idea of what features they ended up adding in the 4 other expansions. So I wouldn't be surprised if it would expand to the 10GB+ level.

Can you imagine what Sims2 and expansions will end up weighing in at if they made 7 expansions for it? I would hate to imgine.

I have all the original sims games besides "The Sims: Superstar", and "The Sims: Makin' Magic" and my Maxis folder is around 2.42GB. However, on the "Add remove programs" screen it says it's 11.something MB. That's probably because of all the custom content I added after the fact.

On that same screen the Sims 2 comes up as being 2,807MB, and Uni comes up as being 943MB.

But there's really no way to be sure until you do it. Since most of the expansion packs have files that replace earlier files. So if you just add up the sizes on the back of the boxes, you'll come up with a number slightly larger than is actually needed.

I think that there are also things for the first one that you can remove. Art studio, file cop, hotdate object organizer, etc. Although I'm not sure which of those were installed with it, and which I added afterwards.

(EDIT)

Minor correction.

EA's numbers are worthless. I once had all expansions installed (none of that Deluxe Edition crap either, just every expansion in the order they were released). Expect to use maybe 3GB (I'm working from memory here) and a buttload of RAM. You pretty much need 512MB of it - it'll take a damn long time to load too.

Once again, EA's numbers are worthless. You're looking at a huge pile of expansions each with their own alleged requirements - and we all know that even the requirements for a single game are usually complete and utter BS - you go try and run GTASA on a 1GHz PIII with 256MB of RAM and a 64MB GF3, if you want an example.

edit: Better yet, according to MS, Windows XP requires a 233MHz CPU, 64MB of RAM, and 1.5-1.8GB of hard drive space. Which has been shown to be false in both directions - you can use less, and you need more.

edit: oh, and before some rich asshat in a chevy pickup shows up and starts telling me that 512MB is diddly sh*t for a PC these days, the sims 1 came out in January 2000, and the last expansion sometime in late 2003.

That reminds me, isn't the deluxe edition just "The sims 1" and the "living large" expansion pack in the same box? Or is there actually a noticable difference between it and buying and installing them individually?

I think Deluxe edition might have had alot of the custom made items. I could be wrong though as I never owned it.
