Roger Crawford
When I start GTA: Vice City, it works just fine up until I try to start my new game. At almost 50% loaded, the pink bar freezes, my hard drive light stops blinking rapidly, and insted blinks once about every six seconds. No error messages or anything, only a severe slow-down. And the loading bar does not progress past that freezing point, even after being left overnight. I was having this same problem with GTA 3, except it stopped at about 95% done. So, I'm guessing it's something wrong with my computer, not the game. What I can't figure out is what. My specs are OS: Microsoft Windows 200 Professional Graphics Card: GeForce FX 5500 with fully updated drivers (6.14.0010.7801 English) and 256.0 MB of memory. DirectX version 9.0c Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.70 GHz, ~1.7GHz Memory: 512MB RAM (Will be 1GB RAM when my new memory chips arrive) Running the game(s) at 1024 x 768 in 32 Bit color. I've tried Re-Installing GTA 3, but it still froze. Since GTA: VC is doing the same thing, I'm sure it's not missing files or something from the game. Also, these are store-bought games. Not pirated. No mods. No patches. These are both fresh out of the box games. Edited September 10, 2005 by Roger Crawford

They're almost identical, and I tried switching video cards, but it still won't run for me.
