winstano
In Staunton, as you come out of Phil Cassidy's gun shop on the east side, the street just south has a massive lit up billboard (Kinda like a sh*tload of lightbulbs), and one of the things scrolling across is "GRAND THEFT PORTO - OUT NOW" Obviously a self reference, not only GTA, but "Porto" is fairly obviously referencing "portable"
winstano
What're they going to do then? The bus from "Speed"? They've already referenced the Speed bus in GTA (The original) In the missions that started with "I've got a new job for ya if you want it, otherwise, get the hell outta my ___, asshole!" The bus was then revealed to have been fitted with a bomb and you had to keep it above a set speed until the bomb was defused

SushiCideUk
In regards to C.U.N.T. Back in the days of GTA III, there was a caller on Chatterbox Radio who represented a group called Citizens Raging Against Phones, or C.R.A.P. Now i dont own GTA. LC, but if anyone knows, are there any similarites between C.U.N.T and C.R.A.P. Apart from literal irony... i mean, the C.U.N.T guys have a website, when they stand against the internet, and the caller from C.R.A.P in GTA III, called up on a phone to tell lazlow of the evils that phones cause.... Just a point i was pondering.... SushiCide...

Angel_Gabriel
Information Regarding the 'Crazy '69'' Mission and the 'Dragon' Outfit: •The Mission's name comes from the Movie Kill Bill. O'Ren's Yakuza Clan is known as the 'Crazy 88's.' 69 is just a number added on to make it more humerous •The Dragon Outfit is based on the costume worn by Beatrice Kiddo in Kill Bill but also the outfit worn by Billy Wong (Bruce Lee) in the movie: Game of Death. CGJ
Hi ya everyone. I apologise if this has already been mentioned but this may be an easter egg and/or a hint to the next GTA game. On the http://www.citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org/ website, under TESTIMONIALS, the first one is from Marcel Crayon who live is Carcer City. Mxyzptlk
Carcer City was the fictional setting for Manhunt, so I think it's unlikely a GTA game will be set there.
Ben Fleming
Though Manhunt -is- a R* game, so that kind of does qualify as an easter egg, if not one directly from a GTA. Though you're right, it's unlikely it's a clue to the next GTA game. People have been speculating about C.C. being the next Gta's setting, but then it would be like a brighter, less gory Manhunt. i_am_da_man86
I found out that Bickle is the surname of Travis Bickle who was played by Robert De Niro in 1976 in the film Taxi Driver. Hence the name Bickle '76 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075314/ I did post this somewhere else but it attracted a troll! lol, BTW If this does happen to be old I only just found this info out the other night after watching the movie on channel 5! i_am_da_man86
Sortry for the double post but I had to move this topic I started. You know that underworld people go on about? Well I know an easier way to get to see most of it. Just get on a subway train and when Tony faces out of the door just before it sets off, use the cheat device to teleport somewhere (I chose SSV Airport Runway) and you will then see the train driving along the tracks but you won't see the tunnel that its in you will only see the 'underworld'. P.S. I don't know whether he has to be facing out of the door, it will probably work when the train is in motion. EDIT: I just realised that if the train goes past a loading point just teleport somewhere else and it goes 'underworld style' again. EDIT (again): This is a bit glitchy but its cool to try out. CarpetDweller
@ i_am_da_man86 - I am not flaming you, just advising - We get a lot of repeat posts here, but it's better if everyone searches before posting anything new as it's better to keep everything in one place. Another thing I've noticed about this GTAForums compared to some other GTA forums is that we don't get as many posts about one tiny little thing that someone has noticed. We get some. But nowhere near as many as other sites This is mainly because people want more from topics here. There really isn't much point if the only follow up posts can be "Cool" or "I didn't know that". If people are interested in references then they can just look at this topic to find them. It keeps things ordered and convenient. The Bickle thing has been posted a few times as a general search for "+travis +bickle" would confirm. Mxy advised you that should have checked before starting a new topic. He also advised you to post it in the correct section. He mentioned that you had already posted this info before anyway. I don't know if the Shark comment was a reference to something you've said before or just a general joke, but Mxy's a good guy and it wasn't really a flame. If the 86 in your name is a year of birth then I'd have thought that you would have learned to let things go by now, especially if they are giving you good advice at the same time. BTW - if you didn't know there is a section at the bottom of each page which allows you to search that particular topic for certain words. It gives you all the posts and highlights the word in yellow. Typing "Bickle" would have given you a few results and saved you posting it again. I've no doubt that you have enlightened some people with the Bickle info, but they would find it themselves at some point. As mentioned earlier in the topic - the GTA Taxis are always a reference to something. ---- I tried the train thing and it worked. Nice little trick to see. I guess it's simply trying to play the train cutscene, but within the "world" that you were teleporting to instead of the "subway world", so no tunnel is loaded. Ben Fleming
Edit- Also, does the person inside of the church sound like the religious person in Vice City to you? You mean Pastor Richards? Since I don't have the game, I don't know, but I know for sure that it -isn't- him. The voice actor died last year, apparently.
