GodGell
this might sound a little offensive, but if you use a mouse control scheme, it's much better to not use auto-aim. autoaim just makes the game too easy and boring - and if you use manual aim, and learn to do quick headshots (which is much easier than it sounds), you can take enemies down 1 shot per enemy. that means you don't have to waste a ton of ammo, and, even better, your aiming skill will increase. you can just go to an AmmuNation with a shooting range to practice - or just do it the GTA way, by simply using bystanders as targets.. good luck. PC VERSION I'm looking for an answer on this too. I don't necessarily CARE if it's n00bish to lock on or not, folks still want to know. Is it even possible in the PC version? I don't even see it in my keymapper. It looks like there's provisions for it though (i.e. target switching) but no actual LOCK ON key.
Mike0
Autoaim is possible on PC version. All of the PC versions of 3d GTAs have autoaim possible.

MRTN
Autolock is handy when you have a "slow" controller, with mouse aiming you can get easy headshots. Go get those wanted stars!!!

Go get those wanted stars!!! exactly - if you're lucky enough not to use a stupid controller, manual aim is way better

Mike0
You go to OPTIONS - CONTROLLER SETTINGS (or something like that, I dont remember, since I dont play the game because of a lousy computer) - then you set the CONTROL METHOD to joypad mode. Then you can autoaim. Also check which button is for autoaiming in the area where you change buttons. Also read the manual and readme and whatnot. I think you can autoaim with the mouse even.
