Are you saying you would buy LCS for PSP if it was playable on a PC PSP emulator? Because that's what I interpreted that as.

I think he was first asking if it was available on any other consoles beside the PSP. As it's not he is hoping to find a PSP emulator like they have for old consoles on the net such as NES, Megadrive etc.

I doubt there will ever be a working a PSP Emulator, Sony have put in some seriously tough protections on the new UMD media so even if someone devised some way of reading the UMD disc media I doubt a emulator could be made. LCS is only avaible on PSP, so its really your only option.

Nobody would of thought PSX games could be played on the PC.

The playstation is alot different to a portable console, besides even now there's no decent working PS2 emulators and the console has been around 4 years+.

@GTA3 - I never said its impossible just highly unlikely that a working PSP Emulator would be avaible by the time GTALCS comes out. Especially considering even the PS2 still doesn't have a working commerical emulator.

All of the protection is in the firmware, and people allready have dumps of it. Other than that, emulating PSP should not in any way be more difficult than emulating a PS2. It will still take some time to develop good emulators, though.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

haven't you seen any of the UMD dumping tools, or any of the iso files that are available to download from various nefarious websites? the PSP warez scene is already large, and will only get bigger. people are working on firmware downgrades so new PSP's can run existing iso file loaders and homebrew, and doubtlessly other people are working on versions of such software for the v1.5x and v2 firmware..

still, it's fair comment that there isn't a decent ps2 emulator yet, so I see no reason why it should be easier to do a PSP one. However, there are plenty of emulators for handheld consoles like the gameboy, gbc, gba, game gear, etc blah. also, consoles of similar technical prowess to the PS2 have been sucessfully emulated (e.g the Dreamcast, though this is technically much closer to PC than PS2)

it would look like crap fullscreen anyway.

Not really. The PSP screen's resolution is only slightly lower than than on a regular TV, and higher than that on the old 8 and 16 bit systems. Besides, if you emulate the PSP, you should be able to change the screen resolution. Unlike sprite-based games, it is very easy to do in 3D games.

You do fully know that any of those emulators that import games from other consoles are illegal, don't ya?

No, they are not. Emulators are perfectly legal. What is illegal, evry often, are the BIOS images that you need to run the emulation, and as dodgeme mentioned, you can legaly own a copy of BIOS image if you own a console, and many emulation dev teams create their own BIOS images that are perfectly legal, even if they don't run quite as well as real thing. Also, it is perfectly legal to own copies of ROM images as long as you have purchased the game. So if you purchase the UMD with the game, and then download a PSP emulator, 3rd party BIOS, and the image of that UMD, you can play the game without violation of any copyright laws and without having to buy a PSP.

Your so right.

I was just looking for something negative to say.

The psp screen is almost like looking at a mini-HDTV. (i say this not because of tech specs, but because im looking at it right now and its so nice)

Viva la PSP!
