~Giggle~
I have searched this but the most I could find on these hard-drives were "I recommend them" and so on. So, is this any good? I assume it has a 2MB cache so it should be fast right? I am going to be using it in conjunction with my laptop. If possible could you list the pros and cons of it. Thanks in advance for your help. Waste
Here's the full spec page on it. I'd say it's pretty good. I don't know if a 2MB cache is good on a USB drive, but I'm going to look and see what's the norm. [edit] Yea, a 2MB cache is what most external drives are using, but there are some that have 8MB and even 16MB caches. I'm sure you would pay more for a drive with a larger cache. ~Giggle~
They do sound good but I am on a pretty tight budget, maybe £100 at the MAX, but would that be sufficent enough speeds for just transferring videos, music and programs in day to day use? Waste
Well, by USB external drive standards, yes. It would be fine for everyday use.
~Giggle~
Ok, thanks for your help then, I think I will get that one then. I would have got it at the Maplin shop in my town but it is £20 cheaper on Amazon!

MiNdLeSs
If you want cheaper, you could just buy a HDD case and a HDD and it might save some money. I know i can find a 160 gig HDD for $49.99 and a $30.00 case= USD, but i dont know if you would be able to find those prices by you. If you want no hassle, just get the one you mentioned. It should be fine
Duders
Or for more portability, build an external HDD with a notebook HDD and a notebook HDD casing. A taxd more expensive than a regular HDD one but still cheaper -duders
