Looks like Driv3r.5 lol, I dunno as far as graphics go it looks the same old jagged and pixelated crap, if they have fixed all the problems that Driv3r suffered then I see a half-decent game so it needs to do wonders to make me buy it.

Hmm, I don't know what to think at the moment, I mean, I won't trust it, as if it's as crap as Driv3r, I definately won't be getting it. I might rent it or something though.

ps2? Why make it for a old gen console? They need to start to making it for the x360 if they want to beat Driv3r. Apart from that, it does look good. There seems to be alot of traffic in some of the pictures, the lead character isn't tanner for once so thats a bold move. Hopefully he'll be better to control and so on.

I'm a bit dissapointed with the current gen releases, but atleast reflections is going back to their roots. It looks more like the original more than ever. I'll give it a rent, and see what happend from there.

That type of thinking is why Xbox owners have jack sh*t coming to them this year and PS2 owners are having plenty of good games.

Yes, I agree with Big on that as well. DRIVER was fun even though you can't run people over, but they still walk into walls like ghosts

Ya, some of the pics look a play station 1 engine, but there is some sexy non pixalated 1's in there. Anyway, I think DRIVER 4 will do well, it would be the logic way to fix all the bugs that were in DRIV3R and if they don't then well it's the end of DRIVER series for me until they prove them selves of accomplishing an astonishing game once again. They did make a mistake by making it for the current generation of consoles though

I just loved Driver 2. And I was totally in love with Driver. Driv3r dissapointed me though. I will rent this one first before I consider buying it.

Driv3r was probably the biggest dissapointed I've ever experienced in terms of gaming. I was intrigued and waited nearly a year for this game to come out. Reflections has a lot to make up for.

I couldn't beat the last level of Driver 1 even with cheat codes. Bastard cops would flip me over every time. I got it after a week.

So now they've decided the character shall be a criminal set in 70's NYC? f*ck that sh*t with a shovel. If I'm not mistaken, the other sh*tter, True Grime, is also going to be set in New York. It's pretty bad when the clones start cloning each other. That's a sure-fire way to end up with a large pile of sh*t in your hands.

 

It's quite clear that Driv4r and the next True Grime are desperate last minute attempts by these mediocre game developers to squeeze every last cent out of their failed, shoddy software. Otherwise, they would be focused squarely on the next gen systems. My advice is that everybody just look away now. Just look away, people, just look away.

Anyway (on topic), it looks like another driver game. Nothing too special.

Driver 1 and 2 was bad ass. They were one of the firsts to incorporate 3D living free-roaming cities into games. Technically, GTA copied them!

 

Driv3r had it's fun spots, but they went too far with the on-foot gameplay which ruined a lot of the game. The driving parts were pretty fun and challenging, true to the game.

 

And to those complaining about the graphics:

If it isn't evnen Alpha why are they bothering showing screenshots when they know the bad rap they got with Driv3r? If its anything that Reflections don't need its more people getting the same impression as they did with Driv3r.

I disagree with it being a bad thing not releasing it for next gen consoles

 

firstly not everyone can afford to go out and buy a PS3 on its release, to them it makes a lot more sense because a lot more people will have a PS2 than a PS3

 

Also, the old gen consoles are now a format with which they have had some practice, if they were to start developing for a whole new (and as yet unreleased) platform we are much more likely to get the same old buggy sh*t from them.

 

lastly, by using old gen stuff they can reuse the good bits from their previous engine, meaning they have more time and resources to correct what was wrong with it. If reflections started from scratch on a new console they would have to redo the driving physics, and would therefore likely run out of time to do the on-foot stuff and debugging, which is exactly what happened with Driv3r.

 

From the reviews and interviews it does sound like reflections are aware of what was wrong with driv3r, hopefully this new Driver will be the game Driv3r should have been, and Driv3r itself can be swept under the rug and forgotten

I loved Driver 1,2 and Driv3r

 

This one looks f*cking ugly and Orange! The whole game has an orange tint to it I hate that.

Well yeah thats true superfly but add the fact that Driv3r was such a let-down means its a recipie for disaster. I myself fit into the catergory of not having the money to purchase these new wizz bang consoles so I still want some decent games for both my Xbox and PS2. Don't get me wrong I've always liked the Driver series but 3 just left me disapointed and for that I find it hard to have faith in this game being any different.
