anus
I've got video CD which I lent from a friend, I've got to return it, so I tried to copy the video file in it and also all of the folders in it to my PC. But it didn't work, I tried about fifteen times now but I get the same result. It's a DAT file btw, it plays on WMP 10 without a problem through the CD. When I try to copy the file (s), the copying file windows shows up and shows me the progress of the copying, but when the bar reaches about half, it gives me an error windows which says, 'Cannot copy AVSEQ01 : Invalid MS - DOS function'. AVSEQ01 is the file I'm trying to copy btw, I need some help quick since I'e got to return it tomorrow. Thanks for any help .
maelstrom
I have had that problem also, in some cases using another cd drive to read it has usually resolved the issue. you can also try creating a non-iso image (like bin/cue or alcohol mds) to see if that will work (since VCDs have 2 data tracks), then rip the iso. anus
No, the drive I've got is not a writer, it's a plain DVD drive. And I removed the others since they got f*cked up. I'm not going to buy any new stuff for this PC since it'll be a waste of money. I can spenmd that money on the new PC. So, because I've got no writer, I can't use Nero either (didn't try, thinking I can't). Is there any other way to fix this problem. Thanks a lot for the quick answer btw . Wolf68k
The DAT files is nothing more than a MPG file. Youl should be able to copy the DAT file(s) to your HDD and renamed the file extension tot MPG and it should work. If you would rather to it the right why, or if it doesn't work for you, then get VCDGear and point it at the DAT file on the CD...I think it can do a direct rip just pointing it at the CD itself but don't quote me, and it'll convert it to a playable MPG file. anus
Wolf, No, I don't get that error when trying to play it, I can't copy it in the first place. When I try to copy it to the HDD it gives me that error when the bar is halfway done. I've kept the CD today, and I'm trying to do thi again.
