Svip
IE is once again annoying me with something that sounds completely retarded. And since I say IE, yes it means that you'll have to figure out where you saved it. Oh this page, there are a list of items to the upper right of the field ( first of all, don't bug me about the use of tables, secondly, don't bug me about the language, it's Danish, whatever ), now, in Firefox ( and probably other browsers like Opera and Konquorur ) it works fine this list, you hover an item, and an image appear on the picture to the left. Now, try doing the same in IE, and you might ask; "What is the problem, it works fine," however, try moving your cursor fast through the list of items, and notice how the entire page moves a bit to the right, it's restored when refreshed. Why does it do that?! WHY!? In case you are wondering, here are some relevant links; The Javascript file The CSS file Please help.
Octember
this is a tad off topic, but add a preloader. loads too long for me.
segosa
It doesn't move to the right for me. Stop using CeDega and get on a real OS like Windows.
Svip
It doesn't move to the right for me. Stop using CeDega and get on a real OS like Windows. You know, I don't even have IE on my computer. I saw it on another computer using Windows XP. Move your cursor fast over the items and out of the window, try it some times, you might notice it jumping. And Oct, there is a preloading system. My server is just really slow. Svip
It doesn't move... Well, what version of IE are you using? I admit I didn't check at my school I will tomorrow though! My client's computer might have a retarded version of IE installed. :<
Waste
P.S.: IMO, that bottom menu would look better if you made the hover links a shade of grey just a little lighter than the background. Mind you, that's just my opinion.
Svip
Suggest all you want, my client is a pain in the ass, and want it their way, and no other.
Mercie
notice how the entire page moves a bit to the right, it's restored when refreshed. Nope. Not in Ie6 nor IE7. Just, like above mentioned, a pre loader would be nice/helpful.
Svip
Argh! People these days! Like mentioned above, there is a preloader, however it's slow because of my server, thank you. Or the javascript is f*cked or something. EDIT: lol fixed the javascript, now it works, well it did when I deleted my cache. Hope you see it too. Mercie
There we go. Seems to work just fine now. The recall is fast and all, even after deleting the cache.
Johnno
I'm curious whether or not you actually plan to finish this site?
Svip
I'm curious whether or not you actually plan to finish this site? It is finished. The client wants it the way it is. I might not have a lot of respect for my client, but whatever. So in any case, the problem that happens on my client's computer is not something that happens on your computer? Well, this has got to be version of IE, he is running Windows 2000 Pro too.
BenMillard
Just use CSS? This site is so hideously badly coded and so totally inaccessible that I hope you going to add it to your Crap Site Watcher when you have finished it. If the company gets sued under European disability legislation, you'll be accountable because you coded it so badly. I really find it strange that the owner of a web standards community uses tables for design. And writes that quality of code.
segosa
I've looked at the source and I can't see anything wrong except tables. Which a lot of sites still use. Feel like elaborating? Also, if he's getting paid, who cares?
Johnno
Feel like elaborating? Rightio. There isn't really much point using Javascript just for that little mouseover trick. CSS could do that. The document isn't XHTML (Transitional is a waste of time: strict or HTML). No attributes for the html tag. Center tags: they went out the door with tables. And a whole bunch of divs surrounding the content which as far as I can see, could be all in one.
Svip
I spend hours trying to get it to work in IE with div tags instead of tables, but it never worked. So I escaped to tables. I know the coding sucks, I know it sucks, I wont use it for my portfolie, cause the site in general sucks. And secondly, how can CSS make an image appear somewhere else? As far as I know, CSS can only change the object in question. Stop f*cking reminding me. EDIT: It looks like it's started to jump a bit smaller now.
