IeetGLOO
Ok what the heck is going on with my ps2? One day I was sitting there playing Final Fantasy Tactics minding my own business, and the next day FFT won't work. I figured it was becuase of the scratches on the disc so I tried many home remedies and f*cked it up even more! So now FFT is dead and I'm sad. But wait! There's more! I tried to see if other PS1 games worked (which I should have done BEFORE I murdered FFT ) and they didn't work either! I later realised that PlayStation, CDs, and BLUE PlayStation 2 discs will not work, and everytime I try, I get the message "Disc Read Error" popping up on my screen. It's laughing at me...I know it is...Anyway what can I do to fix this? I'm broke so I can't afford to have it repaired professionally or to buy a new one ($149.99 for that big hunk of plastic!) Help a poor guy out!
boobtronic
Mine did this, too. Sony let me send it in, and repaired it for free. Nothing you can do, short of adjusting the tray angle yourself, but you're better checking if you can get the free repair, first.
Hell No..
Hmm, I find that Blue discs wont work on mine really anymore. Unless I tilt the PS2 at a certain angle to load them. Try that. I'm on Twitch! Are you? Come say Hi. https://www.twitch.tv/priceyryan
Jumping Snakes
It's a part of the Ps2's life... after like 4 years... they slowly start to die. You were just one of the unlucky ones.. your Ps2 got murdered overnight...
LLD
Will this sort of thing happen on the PS3, I was wondering if at any of the showings they talked about fixing technical problems. Because all of my friends who own a PS2 have had it break once or twice, I don't like that, my Gamecube has only frozen 3 times and never has it not worked when I load in games. Is Playstation just a shoddy system? Is XBOX better? Playstation owners, what do you say about the quality of the actual system (not the games) ? E-ONE firetruck
Yep that has happened to me also. My PS2 is dead and all I can do is try to find a secondhand one going down because I just don't have £120 to spare ne. I take it that the PS2 must have had a design fault or something because I have never had any trouble with the PS1 when I had it .
