Hi everyone,

Right.

My Boss kinda, Wants a new PC. He likes gaming, HL2 and shooter games, MOH, DOOM, etc etc.

He had a decent PC that he had built from a friend of a friend, you know everyman and his dog are building them these days, Anyway, the machine was really noisy, fans and stuff, and I mean really noisy, I understand you cant have a silent machine but mine is really quiet.

So anyway, We have found this PC, which to me looks awesome.

But anyone here, with the details you can see have any idea if this will be on the quiet side?

There is really no way to tell if it will be quiet, but if it isn't you can always make it whisper quiet with passive coolers and such.

This is all very well, but we dont know much about changing stuff on machines, He would rather just buy it and it all be fine without any extra fuss. We need a computer thats good, and needs to messing with.

Two words. Water cooling wow.gif That should be completely silent.. so build it yourself or something, and get water cooling with it. Don't get a AMD Athlon 64 4000+, get a AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+, I think your boss will like having dual core. Anyway, it wont be worth it until dual core is mainstream, but you might as well now. Also don't bother with a 7800 GTX, it's a waste of money comparing to the 7800 GT.

Your boss must be really rich for a setup like that. Anyway, I found a PC better than that on that same page, it has more performance and doesn't have GTXs, it has two GTs.

This is the PC :

"Verso" AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 Dual Core 'San Diego' 2.2GHz DDR System (FS-012-OK)

If you are looking for high performance stylish looking compact system without the inflated cost then the new Verso is ideal. Verso is powerful enough for any task and is extremely versatile plus upgradable. Built around the extremely powerful Shuttle SN25P this PC is extremely decieving to the eye as it destroys the myth that bigger PCs are faster.

- AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 'San Diego' 2.2GHz Dual Core CPU

- NVIDIA nForce4 "PCI-Express" (Socket 939) Dual DDR400 Motherboard

- Leadtek GeForce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card

- GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) DDR PC3200 Cas2.5 Dual Channel Memory Kit

- 250GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 16MB Cache SATA-2 Hard Drive

- Pioneer DVR-110BK 16X Dual Layer DVD±RW Black ReWriter Drive

- Black floppy drive

- Onboard Intel HD Audio

- Gigabit LAN

- Shuttle SN25P Case

- Silent-X 350W Silent ATX Power Supply

- Built in 8in1 Card reader

- Front & Rear Firewire IEEE1394 Connectors

- Front & Rear USB2.0 Ports

- Front Headphone & Microphone Ports.

It's the seventh PC on the page smile.gif.

A PC Like that is a dream PC inlove.gif.

Your current setup looks awesome to me, but this setup has all of the stuff Cran and othes wanted excluded.
