Dublo 7
I have an iPod mini, and when I plug it into the pc (using usb) it does not respond at all. Its as if I haven't plugged it in. There is no 'busy' icon on the iPod, there is no 'Device found' on the PC etc. I can't upload songs to it, I can't even restore it if I wanted to. What the heck is going on? This has only started happening recently... I'm using WinXp.
Mr.Stevo
Have you tried using diffrient USB ports? (You probaly did). If so, it could be your USB cable or something in your computer, or maybe the USB port or cable is dirty. Thats just my guess. Just wait for the others to reply. Wolf68k
This might sound like a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway..... Do you have QuickTime and iTunes installed? The lastest version is QT6.5.1 (though there is a 7beta out) with iTunes 4.

Opius
Do a hard-reset (push 'Hold' on, then off, then hold the middle button and 'Menu' until it turns off), then as it's starting, hold the middle button and 'Previous Track' to go into the debug menu. Use 'Play' to scroll down until you see an option called 'Hard drive mode' (or similar). Plug in the cable now, and select the option using either the middle button or 'Menu'. You should only need to do this once.
n2gether
well i had this same exact problem, first go to the faq on apple.com, there is a whole sh*tload of things to try for it, but in the end, it was a faulty cable, so they sent me a new one for free...
