swmand4
San Andreas is starting to make me angry with all it's small, annoying quirks Anyhow, everything works perfectly on my model during SA daytime hours, but once it gets to be night time and the headlights go on (important?) the chassis textures invert (outside becomes inside - mostly transparent). Has anyone had this problem before? How do I fix it? WTF? Daytime: Nighttime: Just in case it's important: the headlights are on the wings. Daalyman05
Did you use zmodeler for this? If so you need to update to the newist build, this fixes the problem. If you used something else then sorry i dont know.

Daalyman05
They should have like an update for the dff script, to correct this. Check the pinned topics i'm sure it has to have one. Sorry i wasnt much help.
swmand4
It's alright - at least you tried to help. Unfortunately, I am using the most current version of the DFF exporter (Aug 25th). I'm doing a few things here and there to make it better, and maybe I'll accidently fix it If anyone has any ideas, I'd like to hear them. This kinda error is the release-stopping kind
swmand4
When I knock out both headlights it goes back to normal. Any ideas how to fix this thing? People?
Mercie
From the looks of it, SA is changing the orientation of the normals. How that differs from day + night I cannot gues beyond teh shading. YOu mentioned the lights making a difference... Try resmoothing the ass of the car so that the normals may be fixed.
swmand4
How would I go about doing that?
Mercie
Select the main part of the car, then use the "Smooth" modifier. Try both "Autosmooth" and the "Smoothing groups." Should neither of those methods work, hop on MSn for a more indepth normals workout.
pfc_lee
I've encountered this with my Ferrari, it annoyed the hell out of me too. You need to reset xform on the problem objects. Reset xform is under the utilities tab. When you reset sometimes the normals are flipped, add a normal modifier to flip them back to normal. Also make sure nothings selected under the sub-object mode in editable mesh like elements when you reset xform. Weirdness occurs when you reset with a couple of polys or elements selected in sub-object.
