[REL|SA] San Andreas Mod Installer v1.0

Recommended Posts

hmm i can't uninstall mods. I get Error "On Click, Line 24: attempt to index global 'ScriptsFound' (a nil value)

Does this happen with every mod? or just certain ones?

For some reason, the backup script is not getting "assigned" correctly. If you haven't already. Run SAMI and go straight to the Uninstall screen and try to uninstall the mod. (don't go to any other screens first)

Although I think I know how to fix this, even though I don't know why it's doing that.

I think I have a fix for your problem. I'm not sure why it only happens to you though. However, I have re-uploaded SAMI, so re-download it (using the same link in the first post) and let me know if this fixes your problem. smile.gif

(You may want to delete your temporary internet files first, then re-download it. Otherwise it might use the old version that was already downloaded, since it will be the same filename. This happens to me sometimes. But then again, my computer is a stubborn piece of crap sometimes. smile.gif )

might be a problem with your install i dunno but i made a script wich extracts files from gta3.img for a backup deletes the file and then adds the new one also made it delete handling.cfg, carcols.dat,carmods.dat vehicles.ide, main.scm and script .img and make it place the new ones there but near the end of the game loading it crashed :S i dotn think its a problem with a car or any scm code

il try find out the problem just letting you know though

You shouldn't need to use the ImgExtract if you're for backup purposes. SAMI will automatically backup the file before the mod gets installed. Unless you want it saved somewhere else in the game directory or something. When you're creating scripts, you do not need to create the commands for SAMi to do a backup. All of that is done automatically right before the mod is installed. (or maybe this is not what you mean)

What I would do is try manually installing the mod, doing it in the same order and the same way you're telling SAMI to do it, just to make sure it's not a problem with the mod itself. Or maybe you're not putting the commands in the right order. SAMI executes commands as they are positioned in the script. So if a command is at the top of the script, it will be the first command executed. So make sure the commands are arranged correctly.

If you are still unable to resolve you problem, then PM me and I will help you futhur. smile.gif

Thx for your help wink.gif . BTW that never happens in Firefox tounge.gif

ok ill try again and ll try the mod manually aswell

great work loving this programso ez to use and create scripts for instead of using or making a complicated installer program

I had a problem installing mods with this tool, when I installed a car, it had huge wheels in game, the size in the ide file was good because when I changed the wheels at a mod shop they fitted perfect also when I installed the same car manually without the mod installer, the wheels were good.

NOOOOOOO somehow i cant install .Net Framework, therefore SAMI doesn't work AHHHHHH(or it could be because im using safe mode cause the only account has a password on it that i dont know)

If you're running your computer in safe mode then that is more than likely the reason why you can't install the Framework. I'm not sure if the game would even run in safe mode either.

Could you give me a link to download that vehicle? Or if you want you can email it to [email protected] and I'll see if I can find out why it's doing that.

(im on the normal account)

Howcome whenever i open up the installer, only a tiny, tiny window appeared in the middle of the screen, and when i click on it, it said "Filename is not there", then "Could not load Language module: \suf6lng.9\suf6lng.4515750 Setup will Abort" even when i download a new installer

Hmm, now that is strange. Do you have administrator priviledges for your Windows account? If not then maybe it's prevent you from installing the program. That's what you should check first. If you do not have admin abilities, then either install under an admin-enabled account or grant admin privledges to your account.

If that's not it then it's something else wrong with Setup Factory (the program I created the installer with).

Try what I suggested first, then if it still happens, then I can just upload all of the files for SAMI without the installer (though you'll have to create a shortcut for it yourself).

im using the ONLY account on this computer which has admin privileges and it worked....but took an abnormally long amount of tries, and time, but now, this is THE MUTHER F*CKING GREATEST THANG I'VE EVER SEEN FOR SA!!!!

now i've got that out, i think we need a weapon, and clothing install script since those are very common mods

This will need to be pinned.

You'll need a lot more karma stars.

Although I haven't try it yet, I'm sure it will rock ass.

It will help so much people who haven't has knowlegde of installing cars in SA or just as me seem to do something wrong and thus the MOD doesn't work.

SAMI is great, it really takes the work out of replacing the vehicles, this is great for when your installing 30 + vehicles at a time. Unfortuatly, for ALOT of the cars i install the wheels look wayy too big, and with 1 vehicle (RX8) the texture seemed really messed up and not shiny. please fix the problem with the wheels, then you will be a god among men

good job, very good job indeed...altough i have a couple of questions:

1.dous this thing convert handling, ide and carcoll lines?

2.why isnt the internet update working?(error 205:the update script could not be downloaded form the remote server, please try again later)

3.could you build in a car viewer like in GGMM?

1) I will send you the file once I make the necessary coding to have SAMI be translatable. v1.1 is going to a "fix" release, which fixes a couple minor things, and adds a couple new useful small features. Then the release after that will include the multi-lingual support.

2) Yes, difficult.....to difficult for me. smile.gif

3) Right now I'm using SanAndreasModInstaller.com as a redirect (domain forwarding) to a temporary server. I'm trying to get the permanent web hosting setup so that it works like it should. Now I'm not sure why you can't access the site using that domain. Everyone else seems to be able to. However, once I get the hosting permanent, it should work just fine for you.

Yes that is a bug. When it converts the vehicle lines to replace another vehicle, it always uses "-1" (for the number before the wheel sizes in the vehicles.ide file.) for all vehicles. Most vehicles use that number, however, the ones that don't (which should use 0 instead) will have large wheels. That will be fixed in v1.1, which should be available very soon.

3.could you build in a car viewer like in GGMM?

1) It converts the handling.cfg, vehicles.ide, and carcols.dat lines to work with the vehicle that is getting replaced.

2) As stated on the website, I currently have the SanAndreasModInstaller.com website on a temporary host, and the update won't work (because of how the domain name is setup, using domain forwarding). However, once I get the permanent hosting setup, the update will work as it should. This shouldn't take more than just a couple of days to get the permanent host.

3) I would like to, however, I am not that experienced with coding that type of stuff, so I wouldn't be able to implement it myself. Now what I'm going to add is the ability for SAMI to tell you if you have already replaced a certain vehicle or not. It will be able to tell if it is the original vehicle, or has already been replaced by a custom vehicle. That should make things easier as far as remember what vehicles you have and haven't replaced yet.

yay! now it'll be much easier for me to remember which vehicles i replaced....when will 1.1 be realeased...I think im going to have to reinstall San Andreas again becuase of the bug with the wheels...how can i fix it?

Here's how to fix the problem with the big wheels:

For whichever vehicle that is getting replaced (in this example I'm using the Banshee) is the line you edit.. What you do is open the "vehicles.ide" file. Then find the IDE line, which would look similar to this:

429, banshee, banshee, car, BANSHEE, BANSHEE, null, executive, 5, 0, 0, -1, 0.74, 0.74, 0

All you have to do is change that -1 to a 0.

Do this for every vehicle that has big wheels.

For the scripter: could you make it possible to select multiple files at once to add to the img???

You can do that by clicking "Batch Add" and then "Mass Create ImgAdd Commands".

it would be nice if the custom car names would work ingame to,its anoying having to use .gxt edit every time i install a car...

I'm not experienced enough to create the GXT editing support myself. However, if I can find a command-line GXT editor or something, then I would be able to implement it.
