We could try make the car's that are already made for vice city and make them really realistic, I had ago myself and the detail's and reflection's i got from this car felt like i was playing midnight club 3

!NO JOKE!

I showed it my mate and he agreed " it look's fu**ing real"

his exact word's

ok. so show a screenshot of it then?

a midnight club "style" mod will be acceptable, but i wouldn't recommend converting any actual files from the game, if its even possible.

just for the record, MC3 does alot of fancy trickey with their shaders to achieve the reflections/chrome/visual effects that they get ingame, and most of the reflections are realtime, something not possible in SA.

i'm still working on a few car's but can't go it to detail's just yet nor can i send screen shot's because of the new rule "converting".

but trust me these car's look amazingly real.

even if i did send in a screen shot it woulden't be anything like

seeing it ingame while you drive past a building.

you need to see the reflection move around the car.

if ashdexx let's me i'll send in a screen shot of what i'm doing now.

please ashdexx colgate.gifcolgate.gif

you can post screenshots until the end of time for all i care, theres no rule against that. i just want to see how "real" it looks, since your boasting it so much.

if infact you have done something neat with the materials, the method can be adapted for other SA cars, so everyone will have the opportunity make them look as "real" as you claim. so yea, screenme.

cheer's ashdexx

here's the screenie's but like i said they really look alot better in game.

This is just a working project and is not finished so hence the engine in the cockpit and the exhaust hanging out but it's juat a refrence to what we can get out of these motor's

BMW looks great, but a little too much chrome to me. If you could convert the Cadillac Sixteen, you'll be my second God. tounge.gif

I know the screen shoots arn't that good but wait till you get them ingame.

you can have different reflection's like sutle or plenty of shine but not ruining the

car's apperance.

i agree the audi look's more realistic than the bmw.

this audi is a gem and the first i converted with this realistic effect but seriously

you all have to see it for your self ingame

pm me for more info on these car's

hi all, i think the only way to let everyone know how good these cars look like ingame

is to let someone test them for me and then write about what they think.

but i'm only going to let one person test them for obvious reasons.

I keep looking at these screenshot's i sent and then play them ingame and

i can't get over how real they look,

i'm not boosting or anything, i just want you all to know how good theses car's look

because there are alot of these type of cars on the net and every one can look like

these.

but like i say the proof is in the hand's of who ever test's them!

it may be only fair to let ashdexx test them first!

yeah you can use any reflection map you want for your desierd effect.

the map you have there is full on reflection so if you just cut it in half

you get less shine.

try it out, all you have to do is cut it in half or replace it with another map.

but these map's arn't why they look so real, they just tune your shine you get.

i know these map's have been around for a long long time but all they do is tune this realism effect.

but come one sea norris there do look more realistic than the current cars out for sa

i don't need to test anything, you can just post the reflection map (images) your using.

By the way, the correct way to do this is leave the image alone, and adjust the reflectivity in the material parameters of your 3D app. The Audi looks OK, it would look more convincing (realistic) if you had some spec on it.

Edit:

Actually, the "chrome" effects arent that difficult to do at all. this is a set of rims i made back in june, with a standard SA reflection on it and the reflectivity level cranked to max;

Also, if you want "realistic" (which i suspect you dont tounge.gif ) then adjusting the specular level of your materials can be more effective than the reflections;

here i have 20% reflection and 30% spec.

Ashdexx that Caprice is looking f*cking great bitch!!! I love it man. I want to touch the bumper sad.gif

Those reflections on the BMW look WAY too defined. No, too pronounced. I had a Clover replacement that came with two versions, one with high reflection, the other "standard". I must say that the standard was much nicer, and since the highly-reflective one looked much like that BM, I can say that in-game I'd have to out-game that model. Keep at it though, I hope your next set of screens owns the last!

Ashdexx i see you no what i'm doing with this cool reflection's and i hope

you agree it look's nice.

the car has to be fully chromed up to get this effect even the back and front light's

but is this somthing new to materials and refmap's that i have found or has other's done it before.

because if this has been done before i would like to appologize to GTAforums members for claiming they can get realistic car's for there san andreas game
