A couple of questions:

How do I change the main button function is controller setup?

That is... it appears that for something like looking to the right in a car, there's a main button - Num2 and a secondary button - E. Left clicking and trying to change the buttons changes the secondary button from E to something else, but I can't change Num2...

How do I decapitate someone with a Katana? I do it a lot, but can't find a reliable system to it.

On the map dispaly, what's the difference between a mission objective that's displayed as a dot, and one that's dispalyed as a triangle?

Don't click to change it, just press Backspace when it highlights over the buttons, it should delete all the buttons.

The triangle blip is where the object is above or below your own height level.

It doesn't really matter which slot it's in. In my experience though, the "main" keys change if you choose to assign a couple keys to that funcion.

Many fighting animations are relatively random.

I believe this is first explained during Jury Fury. It explains that the triangles point to whether the object is above you or below you. A square "dot" represents that you are more or less level with the target.

The Katana has a fairly simple "slice one way, slice the other way, stab" sequence going. So whenever I feel like stabbing someone in the belly, I know how to do it. Decaptiation otoh, isn't an exact science. Yet.
