Arrow.inactive
Greets all, So I got GTA San Andreas - the bomb. Amazing how adictive the game is, especially considering the linear nature of the storyline which is tied in with the gameplay. Anyway, the BMX bike and Mnt Bike keep me happy. Definitely the coolest vehics. Great fun to be had pulling manuvers up in the hills! What I'm wondering: Are the cycling/driving (vehicle) skills increased by doing good manuvers with the vehicles or just by clocking miles? Sometimes it seems like I get skill points faster by doing a string of good manuvers... other times it seems to be just miles driven. Would be cool if it did reward skill points faster by good driving... Cheers
Mxyzptlk
I'm fairly certain skill rises by tiem clocked on the vehicles, not by manuevers or speed... The exceptions are the schools where you gain skills more quickly than in normal driving.
NightHawk231
It's all time behind the wheel son...The bike and cycle stats aren't that bad but the driving skill takes forever to max out... Here's what I did... I snagged a Voodoo with hydraulics (East down the street from CJ's Verdant Bluffs safe house) and drove it west to the beginning of the Santa Maria beach...Right next to the Chilli Dog vendor is a low wall...I pumped the hydraulics up and drove over the wall until it was just behind my front door...Then I lowered the hydraulics and it ended up with my front wheels on the pavement and my ass end sticking in the air...Pegged down the "drive forward" key and walked away...About every 10 minutes the game would inform me "Your driving skill has been upgraded!". WARNING! Keep an eye on CJ's hunger level...Every once in a while I had to jump out of the car and grab a coupla Chilli dogs (how convenient) so he wouldn't lose health. Took about an hour-and-a-half grand total and trust me, you'll notice a big difference in how the cars handle. P.S. To get off the wall I just turned the hydraulics on and off while driving forward and eventually rocked myself off the wall...Go save immediately! Any use, vehicle or guns, for example, also fighting increases your respect. My meter seems full, but I saved the territories for one of the last events to work on and have completed them for one saved game thus far. Though the meter appears full, it still pops up on screen BILL
GritSandWiches4Breakfest
Don't forget that trick with the train. You can get your cycling skill up faster. Jump on top of a train and when it goes through a tunnel the wheels will keep spinning, but you won't move and you can just sit back.
omkar179
Are the cycling/driving (vehicle) skills increased by doing good manuvers with the vehicles or just by clocking miles? Cycling and all other vehicle skills are directly proportional to the distance you travel on them. -Thanks
