GEO_Chris
well for that kind of money i wud pay the little extra and get a Alienware Laptop, becuase with these laptops u can actually upgrade things etc gfx card, processor and so on but when looking for a normal laptop make sure u get a decent size hard drive 60gb min if i was u, also make sure the Ram is ok 512DDR, also the GFX card is fairly gd 128mb min, and most important of all is the processor, try to get a Intel P4 (Centrino if u want Wi-Fi) but id prefer a AMD processor alot cheaper but also they run alot faster in my own personal experience. id say the price with roughly the specs i listed above u will be payin around £700-£1200 fair price for a decent laptop gd luck at finding one

Alienware with the same specs as the 9300 starts at $2200.00 The Dell CAN be upgraded. Dell is the only other mfg of laptops that can be upgraded. Dell Inspiron laptops do not use intigrated parts. I have an Inspiron 8100 that I have upgraded 3 times now, for pennies on the dollar compaired to buying new. Started life as an 866 p3 with a 16mb gforce2, now runs 1.4 p4 with a 64mb gforce3. There is a great site that sells Dell laptop parts and upgrades.
GEO_Chris
Thats ok then if i was to get a laptop then i wud wanna get a upgradable one because computers these days get upgraded regulary, and i wudnt wanna spend alot on a laptop that can not be upgraded when sumthin new comes out if u cannot upgrade ur laptop will be top of the range one day and bottom of the range in a few months time to me thats waste of money thats why i rather build desktops alot better and can be easily upgraded, but id get a laptop if i had the money and also if i had a decent desktop aswell

So a laptop is my only real choice. While I do have an uber desktop it doen't fit into a travel case very well. I have done alot of research and found that Alinware and Dell make the best laptops on the market, period. Both upgradable and not too expensive for the Dell. GEO_Chris
yeh i wud get the alienware but its abit too expensive, unless u got the money, go for the dell, i was looking at a laptop that i wudnt mind havin cos i go to me relatives houses at times and kind of get bored so i wudnt mind takin a laptop there and play gta but go for the dell, if u was looking for a desktop p.c then build ur own lol u cud get a top of the rang AMD64 computer for around £500 or less, or just a basic computer for little as £200, trust me you can my p.c was a HP Pavilion but ive upgraded it, better GFX, Motherbaord (upgradin it again), ram, added soundcard, new case, etc hopin to get a new hard drive, 120-160GB, cos only got a 80Gb samsung one and its abit on the slow side (5,200rpm) anyway gd luck in lookin for ur laptop
