Neo-K 182
okay, i'm for putting more restrictions on conversions, however, forcing the author to register and post his approval here is going to far. as long as there is documented approval then it should be allowed. we cant force someone to come to the forums and register just for someone to convert a model. that being said i know this was just done to stop people from converting. and it's a really sh*tty way of doing it. SWEETSAPRIK
I personally don't use mods, so I have no idea how easy or difficult this is for people. If there's a better way to go about it, suggest something, if it's a workable idea, I'm sure they'll try to implement it. The only reason I posted at all is because I thought it was worth mentioning that I find it admirable that this site and the network in general (unlike the vast majority of other sites) does it's best to ensure that peoples work isn't stolen. Opius
This provides documented proof in a way that's visible and clear to everyone. I fail to see a problem.
Neo-K 182
what was wrong with the e-mails? force them to post a screen of their computer looking at the e-mail or something. but this is to far, you cant force people to join the forums just for that. that's just not right. i agree that more restrictions should be put on conversions. and i also agree that permission should be enforced more, but making the original author post here on the forums? thats just too far. have them send an e-mail to the mods or something like that but dont make them register and just post once. thats just stupid and most people probably wouldn't even want to register just for that. Opius
I don't think taking away five minutes of their time to indisputably verify that the conversion is allowed is asking too much.
Opius
Oh, yeah. This is not open for debate / discussion, this is final. Locked.
GT-1
Just like to point out one additional thing. With this the original author will get the credit that he deserves, people will be made aware of him rather than 99% of the conversions where the member who converts the model gets the full credit for the model. Members who try and impersonate other members can expect to have punishment given to them.
