bronze-
Not long ago me and my friend got GTA SA! On my (older) pc it works fine without the soundbugs etc. But on his newer pc (Speccs later) the character (CJ) seems to walk LEFT (A) as soon as he enters San Andreas. In the menus everything is working fine, it's only in the 3D world this happends! It worked fine in the beginning, but when he changed the network (New internet-supplier and router) then the bug accurred (Don't know it this was the trigger or random...). Even after formatting the whole pc (It was ok since he had a low amount of programs installed, on his new pc), and then reinstalling the game didn't help! Speccs : ASUS A8N SLi nForce 4 something...1gbit ethernet 7.1 surround. AOpen nVidia GeForce 6800 GT 256 MB AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Windows XP Home SP2 2 GB RAM. Keyboard : Microsoft Media Keyboard Any help?!?! Edited September 3, 2005 by bronze-

Phoenixguy
Well, I've tried all the suggested fixes that I could find in this forum (yes, I used the search feature) but none of them have provided a permanent solution. To be completely honest though, I'm not surprised because I had the exact same issue when I played the PS2 version (and I played it many times, so it was not an isolated incident). I'm hoping that one of the gifted coders in this forum might have some success finding a real solution to the problem FWIW, here are my PC specs: * Operating system: MS Windows XP SP2 * Video/Graphics card type + graphics memory: nVidia GeForce 6800 w/ 128mb * Processor: Athlon64 3200+ * RAM (random access memory): 1GB Kingston HyperX DDR Also, I use SAAC and a Logitech RumblePad 2 (USB). TIA for any help that's offered. EDIT: I've found that this bug only happens later in the game. If I had to narrow it down with an educated guess, I'd say sometime after you get the jetpack. GTA3Freak-2001
Does it do it if the gamepad isn't plugged in? Hmm quite strange that it's only happened after a certain part of the game, usually this is caused by a gamepad plugged in that is either leaning on one of its joysticks or a throttle slider not being centered as my Logitech Wingman Rumblepad sometimes does. Phoenixguy
Yep, does it even when the gamepad is removed from the usb port. I can go into SAAC and sometime fix it by playing around with the axis tab, but it doesn't always work, and when it does work, it's extremely temporary. I would be much more prone to blaming the joypad if it weren't for the fact that the PS2 version did it too
Kinda Koolies
That happens to me sometimes on my PS2 game, he keeps on walking left, and sometimes right. It mostly happens to me AFTER i get out of a Bus. Don't know why, but it gets really annoying!! Offtopic: Oh, and it happens sometimes in 6 star wanted level, he keeps on walking towards somebody shooting him, which ticks me off! Same thing happens when i'm on the back of a train, sometimes (but nearly always!) he walks North, and he doesn't stop til he s!!!
DaLion
Check for other USB devices. For example i have seen a printer do this for whatever reason. If not then consider sending an msinfo32.nfo into rockstar and ask for help !
Python000
I know on the PC Version this happened to me in GTA3 until I actually uninstalled the gamepad driver, then it worked fine. As for the PS2 version, maybe its the same thing thats happening with the Xbox version? Everytime I start my game (Xbox), CJ always moves one way until I move around a little, press the black button, etc. etc., then he is fine. Does it happen throughout the whole game for you? Maybe a bad controller?
