Guybrush Threepwood
Well, to help the writer's department out (I am such a good guy, I deserve an Emmy award), here's some quotes! And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that ye be not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet... for nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom... then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall put you to death... but he that shall endure unto the end, he shall be saved. But the past is just the same-and War's a bloody game...Have you forgotten yet?... Look down and swear by the slain of the War that you'll Never forget. The worn soldiers in khaki dress,Who tramped through the jungle and camped in the byre, Who died in the swamp and were tombed in the mire. All quotes are taken from a book named "A Rumor Of War" by Philip Caputo. The first quote is from the bible, the book of Matthew 24:6-13. The other one is from Siegfried Sassoon, if you haven't read his "Memoires Of An Infantry Officer", you have missed out on great literature (it's world war1). The last quote, I'm sad to say, do not know whom wrote it. But it rhymes and if you say it out loud, can even sound jolly, though it's message is less then fortunate. BrassKnuckles
Achilles has a badass line in The Iliad: "There are no binding oaths between men and lions." There are a bunch of good ones in the Divine Comedy by Dante, but I'm too lazy to find them. rar paitn ^^
Clown.
dante's entire book could be one big quote. i like this too: you do the little job your trained to do.pull a lever. push a button. you don't understand any of it, and then you just die. actually i like anything from Chuck Palahnuik's Fight Club. he did another book called haunted. the first story in it was so disgusting when he read it out loud people fainted, vomited and cried. its the kind of story that makes you wince. unfortunately i can't copy it all out, and if i did i would probably get banned. its that bad. AllDoItTheSame
Yeah chuck palahniuk has a kind of sick humor From fight club (the movie): Tyler Durden: Did you know if you mixed equal parts of gasoline and frozen orange juice concentrate you can make napalm?Narrator: No. I did not know that. Is that true? Tyler Durden: That's right; one can make all kinds of explosives using simple household items... Narrator: Really? Tyler Durden: If one were so inclined. Tyler Durden: Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing. from the book: I've met God across his long walnut desk with his diplomas hanging on the wall behind him, and God asks me, "Why?"Why did I cause so much pain? Didn't I realize that each of us is a sacred, unique snowflake of special unique specialness? Can't I see that we're all manifestations of love? I look at God behind his desk, taking notes on a pad, but God's got this all wrong. We are not special. We are not crap or trash either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens. And God says, "No, that's not right." Yeah. Well. Whatever. You can't teach God anything.
Brown Streak RR
I'm sorry, but you knew this was coming: The Railroad Is Life Itself. - Edward Hungerford and Riding the rails is the last pure red-blooded adventure in North America. - Duffy Littlejohn The quote best suited for those outside the hobby: The curious but intense pleasure that is given to many people by watching and the study of railway trains, their engines, and the detail of their organization is both an art and a mystery. It is an art because the pleasure to be had is exactly proportionate to the informed enthusiasm one puts into it. It is a mystery because, try as one will, it is impossible to explain to others exactly in what the pleasure consists. - Roger Lloyd

Where is it from? I would like to know some of your favourite quotes. One of mine is a poem by Hugh Mearns called The Psychoed I beleive. My favorite quote: Remember, 'small arms fire' means seven-six-two rifle rounds, not the thirty-eight lead round nose of some crackhead. 'Killed his opponent' means 'brutally beat to death in vicious hand-to-hand combat after being shot'. Get mad if you have to, BUT NEVER GIVE UP. I’m going to die on a boat, in my sleep, in the Caribbean, after retirement, and my girlfriend is going to be so upset she has to drop out of college. I can't remember the source, but I think it's out of some police-stories book.
Mafia Drive Gunner
Well, to start, I will put in a few by Muhummad Ali, as he is an inspiration to us all, and I love inspirational quotes. Then I'll give you my all time favourite quote, which is totally motivating for me as a sportsperson. I hated every minute of training, but I said, ''Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'' That's my Ali quote, a good and motivating source for me to put in the hard yards and work towards a goal. Now, here is my favourite quote, by Vince Lombardi, possibly the most inspirational quote I have ever heard. "I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious." Edit: Messed up tags. -MDG
8ballsoffire
this one's from "On the road" by Jack Kerouac. it's not verbatum but it's pretty close. this is how i want to live my life, i'd been trying to put it in words untill i read this book and Jack said it so perfectly. Dean: we gotta go sal. we gotta go now and not stop till we get there.Sal: okay man, where we going? Dean: i don't know but we gotta go there. a good one from Yeats, again not verbatum but as close as i can remember. i know that i shal meet my fatesomewhere in the sky above those i fight i do not hate those i defend i do not love i'm sure a lot of people can relate to this whether or not they're in the armed forces. Blaster
If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him.If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected. - Sun Tzu, the Art of War I recently read The Art of War, and I was really impressed. You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality.Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it. -Malcolm X Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equalityor justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it. -Malcolm X Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone;but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery. -Malcolm X The reason behind so many Malcolm X quotes is that every since reading "the autobiography of malcolm X" I have been really fascinated about Malcolm X, and therefor doing lot's of studying and reading about him and he's life.
