DenSho
Well, I made a fresh install of VC after screwing it up a little. With 98/ME mode plus Spaceeinstein's GREAT Draw Distance mod EVERY texture was perfect. There were no corruptions, everything loaded instantly, etc. etc. etc. But now I can make gta-vc.exe run in 98/ME mode. It freezes my game in the loading screen (let's say at three quarter's of bar while loading a game). Dunno if it was my imagination, but it really improved the game's performance. Does anyone know why can't I play with 98/ME mode on? Thanks in advance.
Demarest
Um... what happens if you use compatibility mode on the fresh install?
DenSho
It freezes while loading the save game, just like in the modded install. This is the error, it's the first time that I manage to not reboot after it: Unhandled exception: C0000005 At address: 7163aaa4a My system: OS: WindowsXP Pro SP2. AMD Athlon XP 24000+ 2GHz nVidia GeForce MX 256MB DDR 128Mb 1GB RAM Vice City version: 1.1 As I said before, compatibility mode worked before the second install. Now, I'm on the third one. Demarest
Not sure why it's patched since the patch was rendered obsolete over a year ago. Anyways, start a new game.
DenSho
Not sure why it's patched since the patch was rendered obsolete over a year ago. Anyways, start a new game. It seems that if I remove the MP3 randomizer, it works well. I'll try playing without it a little, them downloading it again. And the patch... because, you know, it says it fixes some graphic corruption... Better be prepared than not
Demarest
Better be prepared than not Better to be educated than not. You weren't experiencing graphic corruption and the issue that the patch addresses were solved with later video drivers from the manufacturers. Hence obsolete.
