Digïtál £vîl
Well I am house sitting for my sister while she is out of town and she set up an account for me for her sbc dsl internet hook up. Last night was my first night in the house so as to not get bored I go to turn on the computer. I come back 5 minutes later to see it at a black screen asking me to pick a way to run windows because it didnt load properly. Options: Run in Safe Mode Run in Safe Mode with Networking Run in Safe Mode with Command Prompt Run Normal windows No matter which option i chose it starts to load windows or something. and then freezes up on a black screen and restarts the system totally. showing the Compaq boot screen. Then goes back to the choice screen that i mentioned above. Anyone have any idea what it can be? Or how I can fix it? I am bugged cuz I wanna fix this but cant. SMG
It's obviously giving you a Blue Screen of Death(Stop Error), which unfortunately in Windows XP, Automatically restarts the computer before you get a chance to read it by default. You may notice that the screen may flash blue for half a second. I suggest trying "Last Known Good Configuration". If that doesn't work, try reinstalling Windows over the top (Using the Windows CD, *NOT* the recovery disks. Press "R" for Repair), and if that doesn't work, post back so we can post some more advanced options.

Best solution, if that doesn't work you have to reformat.

Digïtál £vîl
so now all i have to do is find a windows install disk for xp. lol. yeah i cant lose any of her info, cuz yeah. its not mine to get rid of. If it makes a difference, on the safe mode one it seems to freeze up on some sort of system file to do with networking. My dad said it might of been that virus or whatever that was going around the internet last week. Edited August 31, 2005 by Digïtál £vîl
