KollarGTAMF
What a piece of sh*t game. I hadnt even gotten to do the first real mission before it froze on me. But oh the bugs before even that! Sometimes you go into a building to solve a crime, and when you come out some sounds will be gone, like sirens. Or say when you come out from the subway and you're suddenly floating in the air. Or maybe crossing the street only to be hit by a car, but instead of maybe flying over the car and having damage done, you get stuck in the middle of the car. And oh, you better hope it doesnt start raining, or else the graphics will f*ck up, causing weird distortion over everything and causing your radar to go blank for some reason. Sooo many f*cking problems with this game. Not only are their a ton of bugs, but the controls are weird and completely unresponsive sometimes, (f*cking impossible to arrest someone on the ground unless you are facing the absolute perfect direction and pound the B button a ton of times), not to mention the horrendous driving physics and damage (I didnt know barely tapping another car would send them spinning around, yet slamming into them will barely move them). Seriously, DO NOT buy this game. Dont even f*cking rent it. Horrible, horrible, horrible. yea, I love it But its buggy as all ufcking hell! Still lots of fun though
Dasutin
It's a really great game. We all know it's a GTA knockoff... but, who cares? A game is meant to be fun, and this one takes the cake. It's basically the exact opposite of GTA story-wise, which does make for a change of pace, so I really can't complain about it being GTA-ish. GTA set a precedent, and True Crime has followed it really well. We shouldn't hold it against them just because they weren't first.

Uno Carb
This actually isn't the first time I've heard of the game freezing and stalling on players. I'm not going through a Serious Sam II again, and have the game start up one in ten tries. I've been looking forward to this game for awhile now, I havent played a demo or anything, and I think I might stick it out until the price drops, and just get Resident Evil 4 for the PS2. I was listening to one of the guys who worked on the game, who was interviewed on Attack Of The Show! and it seems like they made some major improvements over the first one. Like I said, it seems like it's better just to drop $39.99 on RE4 for the PS2 and wait for the price to drop on this title.

Is the cake bullsh*t flavored? I actually got a Blockbuster card and rented the game just because I wanted to see if it was as bad as Cali says it is, and even though I didn't run into as many bugs as he did it was still a pretty f*cking mediocre game. guv
With everyone being GTA fans, it's very ironic that so many people are complain about some glitches. Well said. The GTAs, while fantastic, are some of the most infuriatingly glitchy and inconsitant games around. What shines through is the feedom: if the missions were put back to back and the freedom to roam removed they would be possibly regarded as unfinished, poorly realised toss. Games like Mafia and Total Overdose have far better missions.

The GTAs, while fantastic, are some of the most infuriatingly glitchy and inconsitant games around. No way. I won't say that GTAs haven't had their fair share of glitches, but none of them have really been so bad that they start to hinder gameplay like all of these other unpolished sh*tters. I have the Xbox version of True Crime LA and it's just a glitchy, worthless f*cking turd. I'm getting the feeling it might be something to do with a sh*tty port to the Xbox if NY is just as bad. If I check this game out at all, I'll wait for the PC version and see how it does. Although the PC version of LA was sh*t too.

Rob.
I've seen the videos and it seems pretty slick, although which version runs better, xbox or Ps2? And another thing, IGN only gave it 7.8, was it really worth that?
guv
I'm getting it on Friday, and I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm or refute the frame rate problems on the Xbox as I usually prefer multi format games on Microsoft's console. I have a PS2 and a GameCube as well as an Xbox, so informed comments would be appreciated.

Weapons: .45 ACP Beanbag Shotgun Caltrops Flashlight Stun Gun 9mm SMG Standard Shotgun 4.6mm PDW 5.56 Assault Rifle Tranquilizer Stun Baton .45 Special Tactical Shotgun 5.56 Bullpop AR Sledge Hammer 5.56 Carbine 7.62 Sniper Rifle Flashband. You can dual weild small melee weapons and handguns. Certain weapons become available to you when reach a certain detective level. The Controls are pretty simple. The camera can get a little frustrating, but it can be adjusted with the right trigger (or R3). There's a wide variety of crimes. There's car hijacks, DUI, hostage situations, bomb threats, illegal chop shops, and then there's the crime involved in the main missions. Basically, you're trying to avenge your Godfather's (a fellow cop/father's friend) murder. Yes, you can change your clothes. You can't buy all the weapons at the beginning, but they become available, and you can get them at the Police HQ, a Police Booth, or a Gun shop. There are save files, and you can save anywhere at anytime, but you will always reload at the Police HQ. Also, when you die, you reload right where you died, or outside the building in which you died. You lose progress on the mission, but you won't lose any money (not any I've noticed, anyway), evidence, or career points. It's a fun game, everyone should atleast give it a rent. Be warned, there are many cutscenes in the beginning though.

Rob.
You know when a games manufacturer attempt to be funny like GTA, and it doesn't work well........ Unlock Redman Gone Wild Mini GameHold down the L1+R1 Triangle, X, X, Circle, Triangle and Square It was like Snoop Dogg in the old one, very pointless indeed. And why does it have to be endorsed by a famous person? Becuase it can't make a name for itself with it's second rate gameplay alone??
