Yeah to prove my point about the glitchyness of LA, I popped it in my clean, never-been-broken Gamecube the other day and took it for a test drive. After 30 minutes of free-roamin I needed to chase down a kidnapper.

 

I drove after his car with mine, he took a sharp turn so I had to smash through the fence. Oh boy, the game didn't like me doing that, it slowed down to 3 FPS and the refesh rate was sputtering, after waiting 3 minutes for it to fix itself, I had to turn the gamecube off.

Of all the god forsaken GTA rip offs, I actually liked True Grime. I think the next one will surely suffice as distraction till GTA4's release.. It'll be a good way to get a look at the potentials of the new technologies

I know its been a while since the last post, but there are some new updates and the game is starting to look good. One of the features that look good is the ability to take cabs and trains. It cost money to take them too, which seems pretty cool.

 

A gameplay video I watched showed Marcus searching the truck of a suspect. He found drugs, then arrested the suspect. An other video I saw showed Marcus searching a guy walking and finding drugs. The guy who was carrying drugs offered Marcus money, but refused then arrested him. But that is a pretty cool way to earn money.

 

More cool features are neighborhoods getting dirtier. If you ignore a lot of crimes in a certain neighborhood, house will get bordered up, more garbage etc.

 

Since I live in NYC, its nice to see a free roam game to take place here. I mean there was Midnight Club, but that sucked. Project Gotham was a good game, but that sucked too since you could only drive in a really small area.

True Crime REALLY feels like it's trying to take on San Andreas in some ways. It has a black cop as a lead, for one. Let's hope True Grime is better this time.

Just another week and then it will be released (I think). It is something I have to rent first. I saw a short commercial of it the other day, and the framerate has to be the worst looking for any console game in history. Maybe the tv ads distort the animations, but if not, then the framerate doesn't come close to rivalling that of GTA:Advance. The commercial also went too fast for me to tell if the driving and shooting looked good. But I will try it by renting it. For a while, I had lots of fun with True Crime:LA since they didn't make GTA on the Gamecube. But then I got a PS2.

 

At least the screen shots look really nice.

I don't know much about the last game. I played a bit of it. The plot was sh*tty and stupid, to say the least. Anyway, I see how many people think this game might become sh*t. But, I read a review on it, sounds good. I heard that the way you work in the cop industry will affect how the games atmosphere looks. So, if you don't solve crimes, the city will look sh*tty. Sounds like a pretty good game. Just because the last one was sh*tty doesn't mean this one will be also. Still, I don't like the whole cop going good idea. Thats why I prefer GTA. Still, I might get it since theres no GTA for the gamecube.

I like the way there's 'copycat' games coming out as I really only have time for games like GTA but Activision could have been a little more original in choosing their character.

Just bought it today. I must say I'm impressed! They've done a fairly good job. The vehicle physics still kinda suck and there's ALOT of stuff to learn but beyond that, I suggest picking it up! It's no GTA but they sure have improved it! There's actually a couple of aspects to the game that are a little better than in GTA.

I'm seeing some mixed reviews so far, but nothing that really suggests that they have done anything truly above and beyond the last attempt.

What a piece of sh*t game. I hadnt even gotten to do the first real mission before it froze on me. But oh the bugs before even that!

 

Sometimes you go into a building to solve a crime, and when you come out some sounds will be gone, like sirens. Or say when you come out from the subway and you're suddenly floating in the air. Or maybe crossing the street only to be hit by a car, but instead of maybe flying over the car and having damage done, you get stuck in the middle of the car. And oh, you better hope it doesnt start raining, or else the graphics will f*ck up, causing weird distortion over everything and causing your radar to go blank for some reason. Sooo many f*cking problems with this game.

 

Not only are their a ton of bugs, but the controls are weird and completely unresponsive sometimes, (f*cking impossible to arrest someone on the ground unless you are facing the absolute perfect direction and pound the B button a ton of times), not to mention the horrendous driving physics and damage (I didnt know barely tapping another car would send them spinning around, yet slamming into them will barely move them).

 

Seriously, DO NOT buy this game. Dont even f*cking rent it. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

caligangstar u suck the biggest balls on the planet. this game rocks the sounds dont go away when u walk out of a place atleast not on my version or it could be that I got a ps2. When u get off the subway u don't float in the air. FOR THE BIGGEST PART IT DOES NOT FREEZE WHEN U DO THE FIRST MISSION!!! u must be the biggest hater of who made this game just shut up. someone who has this game could you tell me how to equip ur weapons I got enough money and i buy them but I dont know. I even checked the trunk of my car but nothings there.

 

another cool thing about this game u can plant evidence on people then arrest them. u can check parked cars trunk for drugs, weapons.

Yeah because I know trick_boy here is like f*cking Einstein right? Shut up. I dont know what kind of "intelligent people" you know, but I havent seen a single review where it was claimed to be an instant classic.

 

As for the format, I rented it for Xbox. And I have a brand new Xbox thats no more than 5 months old. You losers can talk all the sh*t you want, the fact is all of these bugs happened in less than an hour and a half of playing before it eventually froze.

 

I had no bias against this game and was actually hoping it would be good because I like the idea. Unfortunately it wasnt and is instead a buggy piece of sh*t.
