Jeeze, im getting sick of all the glitches in SA - rockstar should really take time in there code.

I was out on the highway between LS and the state with chillad in it, and I blew up some cars, grab the nearest fire eqstinuiser that was by the petrol station I was at and got about putting the fires out, the next thing I know these flames are HUGE - like the oens where you have to save denise. So I was putting these out. Meanwhile no other cars were heading my way, then I noticed as I was putting one fire out another one was appearing. I was putting fires out for about 10 mins and they kept coming!

So I thought Ok, i'll see what happens if I leave the fire alone. It started to die down so I went in to get rid of the small pieces of fire. As I approaced the fire again, LOADS of huge fires started appearing where I was facing, they were just poping out teh ground and they wouldn't stop.

It couldn't of been other cars cathing fire and blowing up because like I said there was no other cars.

I hope GTA4 does not have as many glitches as this, this is reddiculas.

Its not a glitch. Fires don't magically disappear when you leave it alone or extinguish one bit of it dozingoff.gif

So it's not a glitch, right - thats explains me chasing fires around fo 10 mins putting them out from ONE car beeing blown up? they were even slwoing moving acorss teh road (not moving, like I put one out and the next appears close to it)

Tisn't not a glitch

What exactly do you expect a fire to do? Sit there? Fires spread, the petrol would leak and the fire would spread, it wouldn't have one flame waiting there would it? It's not a glitch.

by any chance could the car u blown have been on grass or near grass? then the fire would've spread onto the grass and burn that up too.

to me this sounds naturally perfect for how fires react in real life. they come and they go.

Why do you think firefighters spend hours putting out flames? Because they spread. If you honestly think that you can put out a car fire with one extinguisher then lets for gods sake hope you don't join the fire service

Do you ever expect to jump off the talest building and surive?

Do you ever expect to get a mini gun out from no where, kill everyone and run to a save point and get teh cops off you?

Do you ever expect to fly an aircraft hits trees and buildings and they are all fine?

Do you ever expect to see a dead persons body dissapear?

Do you ever expect ANYTHING that happens in GTA to come true?

NO

GTA is not realistic, As when you NORMALY destroy a car, 4-5 flames come out of it, which are easily put out by a fire extinguisher. This was no NORMAL car fire, they were massive flames - bigger than normal and were going everywhere. They died down when I left them - as I returned the slowly grew bigger and bigger.

GTA Is NOT realistic, so YES you can put a fire with one fire extinguisher

you lot are totaly ignorant. I have destoryed many cars in GTA, I have put them out before. This one was different - massive flames and they wouldn't stop. OK?

I have no doubt that you can put a fire out with a fire extinguisher, I know that too well. Someone very special to me died in an explosion in a car and I sat and watched it. It took more than half an hour for the fire department to put all the flames out and make sure that it was safe to proceed. I understand that GTA is not realistic, but I'm sure they wouldn't want you going for 40 minutes to put out a car fire would you? The petrol spreads, it catches fire, explodes sometimes causing more flames. I think I should know

There is no petrol in GTA - not that I have ever seen. and car fires don't normal spread in GTA. Just one little patch of fire that easily comes and goes. This was differnent, it was bigger - Why do I think it's a glitch? Because it would not stop - when I went away a little bit it died down, when I got closer it got bigger. Normal? NO. Now stop flaming me because you wont belive me. Don't like it, don't post.

I don't mean Stop as in one second there there, next there gone. I mean as I was putting them out bigger ones were appearing, some even had gaps of about 2 cars length. You tell me how fire spreads that far, with a gap in GTA, hum?

Rockstar have made it so that a fire will sometimes spread, that's all. It is a game and so it won't be an entirely realistic effect. I don't see why you're so pissed off about it.

sometimes spread. Not if player walks X far away from fire - fire die down. When player gets X close to fire, spark it back up again. I have seen fire spread in gta before and this was nothing like it. I am angry beacuse this lot are flaming me saying thats what it does when I know what it normaly does and it was NOT this.

Please refrain from being so 'competitive' in your posting. Fire can jump, I've seen it with my own eyes. Sparks jump up from the flames and thats normally how fires start. And as Barguast has said, stop getting so pissed. Your fighting an uphill struggle, so do yourself a favor and quit while your ahead

And for your safety, I honestly wouldn't argue with Barguast, he knows what he's saying, you don't. For one you have no evidence of this, so we don't have to believe you

Personally, I believe you are the ignorant one. People here like Silent have been giving reasonable and logical explanations and not exploding as I am tempted to do. Please, this is not a glitch, it is how fires would spread realistically. The reason lots of other things in GTA don't seem realistic is so not to detract from gameplay value.

It's not SUPPOSED to be realistic. The whole game is based on stereotypes ffs.

i've also seen fire spread by it jumping. I guess you guys will never believe anything unless you see it for your selves.

Edit: Oh god, when did I ever say I would love GTA to be realistic? Never, Admin/Mod lock this.

Well that's just how these games work - just as the game engine won't be spawning pedestrians at the opposite end of the map to you, it also won't bother handling fires unless they are in your immediate vinicity - afterall if you're not there to see it then what would be the point?

And, yes, I've also seen this happen before. In fact, in my experience, it happens pretty much every time a fire starts. Just because people don't agree with you, it doesn't mean you should get so aggressive about it. confused.gif

You didn't, but you were whining about the number of flames spreading (or some crap like that) so you were implying it.

Admin/Mod lock this.

Very well...
