Snake489
Has anyone seen this new game called Just Cause coming soon? It looks amazing and a worthy opponent to the GTA series. You can download the trailer or watch pictures from this game on their offical site www.justcausegame.com.
Guybrush Threepwood
Judging by those two pictures of the city I get a mafia feel. The rest doesn't give that vibe. I'm going with the "wait and see" approach, but I can tell you now that it will never rival SA. As I see no hookers, stealing of cars and no beating of people. anus
It looks good, but not as good as GTA imo. Like Guybrush said, I'll wait for some reviews before I buy that game. The 'Mafia' style is the best I could see. This'll probably be a 'teen' game, so not a worthy rival for SA.
Snake489
This game looks like a winner because of it's free roaming gameplay, beautiful graphics and most important you play as a CIA agent and not some stupid gangster. You will be able to kill innocent people and steal cars but i dont know if there will be any hookers and why don't you think that it will be able to rival GTA San Andreas Guybrush_Threepwood? Also you guys did watch the trailer right because graphic wise it blows San Andreas away but i do agree that the city needs some work but the forest, beaches and water all look amazing. LLD
Wow, Eidos is helping with this? Eidos is one of the most badass game developing companies ever (My favourites : Hitman series, Deus Ex, Project IGI). Eidos will be able to pull it off, their games never cease to amaze me. TEoS
This game looks bad ass, almost like Mercenaries, which I also loved. I can't wait to see more information.

Simple really. Free roaming? Look what that did for Soldner. That's right, it burned and crashed. And oh yes, you play as a CIA agent, haven't we all been waiting for yet ANOTHER game where you play a government agent. Face it, there's been more games with lame-ass agents then there have been with stupid gangsters in the lead. Killing innocent people and stealing cars? Is that all? No choppers, planes, bikes, hookers, wardrobes, an enormous collecion of missions and side-missions, garages to pimp your stolen rides, properties to acquire and so on and so forth? That's a real shame. Plus I wasn't the one connecting this cpu-rapist to SA, the topic-starter did. And obviously it is my civil duty to point out it is a completely different type of game. And oh yes, graphic-wise it is much better, but do you know what free-roaming and those graphics do to your machine? Anyone? That's right, it virtually molests your video card. You'll be lucky if you can run it 800*600 with maybe some of the graphical options turned to medium! And Eidos is working on it? Let's have a look on their website. Here's a list of masterpieces also composed by them: -101 Dalmations II (that's right, part deux), -Backyard Wrestling 2 (a sure winner), -Commandos 3 (1 and 2 were alright, but nobody even bought 3), -Fear Effect 2 (my, a large-breasted woman as the lead, how clever!), -Get On Da Mic (Need I say more?), -The Italian Job (way to rape the classics), -PANZER CLAWS! -Smart Bomb, -Spring Break, -Swingerz Golf, -Whiplash (unlike you'd expect, the main character is a bunny). Eidos has fallen from grace a long time ago.
Snake489
There is over a 100 vehicles in this game from sailing ships, jet boats, jet skies, mini subs to cars, busses, bikes, trucks, tanks to planes, helicopters and fighter jets so there is no shortage on vehicles to drive around in. There will probably be plenty of mission considering this is a HUGE island and many missions in San Andreas was stupid and made no sense like all of zeros mission or that mission when you had to steal 4 special police bikes when there is usally police bikes all over the city. Tell me a couple of games that has had a lame agent in them and rather a lame agent then a stupid gangster. Also those creating this game are no strangers to making computer games with great games like the Battlefield series Ground Control 2 or Chronicles of Riddick. So the chances of this beautiful game making it big are very high.
GTA3Freak-2001
I wish people would stop comparing every free-roaming game to GTA, can't people embrace a game for what it does that GTA doesn't? Now this game got my attention a few months ago, the graphics look fantastic and the whole premise of the game is great giving you complete freedom even more so then GTA. You do the missions you want to do to get to your goal so its kinda got that RPG aspect to it. I actually started a topic about it when I first heard of it. For anyone wanting the closet thing to this game now then I'd recommend Boiling Point which is also set in a sort of Cuda/South America style country. @guybrush - Err your comment about what it does to your PC isn't really a good point since if you've got the specs that's no problem so its user dependent not to mention this game is coming out on Xbox too. Snake489
In what forum did you create a topic about Just Cause? Also i agree about what you said that people should stop comparing all free roaming games to GTA and i have even heard people calling Just Cause a GTA rip-off even though it havent been realesed yet. If you reasoned like some of these people you could call Halfe-Life 2 a rip-off on Doom 1.
Snake489
In an effort to bring back life to this topic here is a couple question you guys could answer so we can start to discuss about this game scheduled to be released winter 2005. -What did you like about the trailer -What didnt you like about the trailer -What features from San Andreas would you like to see in this game -What features from San Andreas would like them to ignore in this game -How interested are you in this game from a scale from 1-10 The thing that i would like them to implement from San Andreas is the ability to change hairstyles, clothes, eat food to regain health, mod vehicles, buy houses and side missions. Things from San Andreas i would like them to ignore is long boring mission/missions that dont make sense, can't run while caring rifles, rocket launches and other weapons you should be able to run with and screwing hookers to gain health. Stuff that i would like them to implement that wasnt in San Andreas is the ability to store and mod boats, motorbikes, the ability to go where i want to when i want to, smart AI, be able to finish mission the way i like (using stealth or going in gun blazing) and the ability when im holding on to a wall to move left and right Sam Fisher style and also be able to clim trees. This game is rated a 9 on the scale since this looks a fun and beautiful game and i cant wait to play this game.
ganja_man_biatch
i'm not gonna say much about the game b4 i get a indept preveiw or review, so far it's lookin alright, but as we all know grapics doesn't make the game, it's the gameplay and story
Snake489
Gameplay is the most important thing in a game but i dont think having a good story is very important. I mean Max Payne, Far Cry, Doom and Half-Life didnt have a very good story but all of those games were very fun to play. PS why does it say Player Hater under my name? I mean Max Payne, Far Cry, Doom and Half-Life didnt have a very good story but all of those games were very fun to play. PS why does it say Player Hater under my name? They had good storylines mate, not A grade novel level but good enough to warrant interest from the player. Actually imo HL2 has the best storyline of any game I've ever played. I do agree that gameplay is what Just Cause wil do well or rather hopefully do well. I started a topic in this forum, I'll try and find it. oh and the player hater thing is just your custom user title, it changes depending on your post count. You can change it if you want, just go intoyour control panel.

Snake489
I was just wondering what features whould you like to see and not to see in this game that was in San Andreas and it is pretty hard NOT to compare this game to GTA which is a huge series with many fans and its pretty obvious that Just Cause will try to rival the GTA series. Guybrush_Threepwood if you dont have anything good to say and just give people the finger then go away. Edit:GTA3Freak-2001 thats just it Max Payne, Far Cry and the other games all had very cliche storylines i mean a cop who has lost his family and wants revenge is very cliche but they told the story in such a way that the gamer got interested in the story even though it was cliche. So its not how good the storyline is but how they tell the story that makes it intersting. Edited August 31, 2005 by Snake489

Venom
Named as the Cuban GTA, I've read a preview about it and it looks amazing. maws
They're going to have to manage that 1219 square miles very well, otherwise it's going to feel like one huge, boring wilderness. Also, how are they planning to fit this on the PS2? It looks bigger and more graphically intensive than GTASA, which the PS2 could only just cope with... Also, how are they planning to fit this on the PS2? reticulatingsplines
reticulatingsplines why do you love Guybrush_Threepwood so much that youre pants hurt and whats true crime got to do with this game? My pants hurt because it's Guybrush. We go way back, oh, at least a few minutes there. The times, the stories I could tell you. /offtopic At any rate, anytime a developer mentions so-called 'massive interactive playing field' or what have you, it usually means they're going to repeat a lot of the same models and textures over and over - True Crime did this so much it was actually a real reason not to play the game (as well as the rather obvious reason that it sucked ass).
