just another thug
Okay so I have a new computer, and I have iTunes but I'm afriad to plug my iPod in. Last time I did this is auto-updated and I lost all my music. How do I set iTunes so it won't auto-update, and the music on my iPod won't be lost? EmSixTeen
Yes there is an option to not auto-update music.. The bad news is that the iPod has to be plugged in for the options to be changed.. I've no idea if there's a way around it
PCJ.
CopyPod Try this program. Uninstall iTunes, copy the music onto you HDD using CopyPod, reinstall iTunes and then add all the music to you playlist, and update, and you won't loose your music. There is probably another, simpler way, but I have yet to discover it. I just used this method.
just another thug
Actually crisis averted. The iPod saved my setting to manual transfer songs from before so it was set that way when I hooked it up. My music is thanfully still there.
