Please Restart I try to reinstall I get another message saying that monizlla firefox must be closed to proceed with installation. I check if moizlla is running and its not. Colotomy Headwind
I've experienced this once before. First of all, download the latest Firefox version using IE (since you obviously can't use Firefox) and save it to your desktop. Now, reboot. When your computer starts up, run the installer located on your desktop. If it gives you the same error, go into the control panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel) and click "Add or Remove Programs". Find the "Mozilla Firefox (1.0.x)" item and click "Change/Remove" to begin the uninstallation. Once it's completely uninstalled, run the installer located on your desktop. If that doesn't fix it, I'm clueless. Try consulting the Support section on Mozilla's website.
Andrew
If you're still expirecing the problem of firefox saying its still running. If you're running on XP, then bring up the Task Manager, and on the processes tab, look for firefox.exe and end it. That should stop firefox from running.
