Does the same occur if you just run gta-vc.exe (without VC-MP). I had a similar problem a few days ago (deleting the VC settings file solved it) but if you did try this on a clean Win XP install then I doubt you have the same issue as me...

If you have any D3D8.dll mod's installed they can conflict with our VC-MP client, and thus will cause what you have said.

1) Delete this file (Sry i have a German System ^^)

%Systemroot%\Eigene Dateien\GTA Vice City User Files\

the File gta_vc.set

2) Use a English exe.

Make sure you do not have any D3d8.dll mods installed such as spookies speedometer mod as those mods conflict with VC-MP.

Made a little tool that fixes my problem.

source:

#include <windows.h>

int main() {HWND vc = FindWindow(0, "GTA: Vice City");SetForegroundWindow(vc);}

http://rapidshare.de/files/4696436/gtafix.exe.html

Has to be run after you got back to desktop.

If you believe its a virus then there is nothing i can do for you.. maybe you find another way or just compile it on your own wow.gif

(maybe you guys could include this next time, would save me time =) )
