Twistie Posted August 28, 2005 Share Posted August 28, 2005 (edited) How many of you people watch a show called Dead Like Me? Its all about a chick called George (short for Georgia). She is killed by a toilet seat, of all things, and ends up becoming a grim reaper. However, unlike the traditional grim reaper story the reapers in dead like me have to live normal lives, have jobs, live in normal houses and reap people. Its actually fairly funny, stupid and dramatic all at once... The perfect balance. I actually think it has one of the most interesting plots... however, my friends aren't as interested. I'm not even sure what countries it is shown in... In Australia its on 8:30pm EST on FOX8 (Foxtel and Austar Viewers only) and the First season has just been released on DVD here. I've seen the entire run on Showtime. I think it's simply the best dark comedy that's on TV. It's a shame they cancelled it after two seasons. I thought I heard that it would be on UPN for a third season. But I have not been able to confirm that at all. And I don't know if I'd want to see it on network TV. It's much more fun to watch it on cable. I'm also that Mandy Patinkin's character (as a grim reaper) never got the chance to say, "Hello, my name is Rube Stofer. You killed my father. Dead Like Me is one of the best shows on the market. It's like a more funny and light hearted version of 6 Feet Under. I was worried it had been cancelled, I guess they just pull the same long ass breaks between seasons that the Soprano's do. Anyone know when the new season is supposed to start?
