_-playero-_
Guys, I borrowed MGS3, I got home and my ps2 controller is not working anymore!!! Right now Im like, hell f*cking sh*t... I can't play... But, the analog button and the led still works... do you think there is a quick solution to this problem?
Dalpura
Does your controller work with other games? Is it in the controller port properly? Is it in controller port #1? Sounds a bit odd that it's just stopped working for no apparent reason. Don't suppose there's anymore information you could give?
SWEETSAPRIK
Everything Dalp just asked plus: So it's everything besides the analog joysticks that stopped working? Meaning d-pad, front and shoulder buttons, start and select? Whenever mine have stopped working I've checked all my connections, and blown in the part of the controller that plugs in (the way you would an NES cartridge.) I've had single buttons stop working on me, usually because it was stuck in the "pressed" position. That usually requires taking it apart and wiping the rubber button covers with a damp paper towel, but the odds on that happening to a few of the buttons at once (muchless all of them) seems pretty slim. The only other thing I could think of is to check the wire to see if the inside (actual wiring) is exposed, or pinch it between your fingers to see if it's been severed at any point. One time I had a controller for a really long time, and I must have bent it in the same spot too many times because it snapped/disconnected inside while the outer covering remained intact. _-playero-_
Nothing, the controller doesn't respond. But the led is on, and I can turn it off... I cant get pass the Browser screen, it is properly inserted and I tried both ports. I dont know, I haven't played for some weeks... no idea what could have happened... Right now Im looking for a screwdriver to open that bitch...
Vanzant
How old is the controller mine craps-out after about four years of use. Do you have them "anger" moments when you pretend your controller is a boomerang after losing?
ganja_man_biatch
my controller gave up jus after a year, my fault for slamming it around, sometimes jus try moving around the wire or that part that is connected to the ps2 port. might be something loose
Jumping Snakes
How old is the controller mine craps-out after about four years of use. Do you have them "anger" moments when you pretend your controller is a boomerang after losing? My controller finally died out of 4 yrs of use also but...it was more or less the cause of my anger during the Jinpachi match on Tekken5.. Damn that hard f*cker! My advice blow the port and the controller, open it open and maybe vaccuum it. Those controllers get pretty dusty. If all else fails, just run out and buy a new one...Ps2 controllers die fast anyway so I mean if you got 3-4 yrs out of it, that's pretty good~
anus
My controller stopped working after four months, so I just opened up the controller and removed the boards, rubber stuff and all and wiped 'em with a cloth and put it all back. Then it started working and it works flawlessly till today .
Davo the Assassin
Yeh, most controllers just break after a few years, or atleast mien did. But they're fairly cheap to buy another one I believe. And they're not that hard to get hold of.

Hunter¥
Take it apart. Put it back together. That's really all you can do. If that doesn't work, buy a nice new one. Ha. One time I threw my controller at my bed and it broke.

Oh yea...and I just remembered a couple of incidents with Socom II when I slammed my controller + keyboard. It was so worth it though. xD
