i've literally just started doing pixel art, these two took me 2 hours.

 

heres the first (a run down hut)

 

and the second (a mansion with a glass roof, 2 garages and a helicopter pad)

 

these two are my first ever pixel creations and i was learning (and am still learning) as i did them. bear that in mind as you tear me to pieces over how bad they are.

when you criticise can you put helpful things such as:

"they arent very good, i would suggest..."

and not

"OMG THEY ARE SO sh*tTY LIKE MY CATS ARSE"

one other thing, does anyone know of any tutorials on how to make pixels plants, like bushes and trees, or is it not possible?

Not bad for first pixel art, I like the seccond one better out of the two shown.

It looks pretty good for your first pixel art.

I like the second one the most.

Tips: Try to make a nice looking sand texture for the second one.

Add more detail to the house of the second picture

And remove that background! It buurrnns!

It's the latest thing that sells well on the market of run down huts and mansions.

 

Suppose I might as well say this: When you look at a window, do you see solid blue? I hope not. You would be able to see through the window into the house. Now, if done properly, something like that could look really cool, but I doubt you have the skill.

firstly, thanks for the good comments, i personaly also like the second one better - the first ione is more basic because it was the first one i did.

 

secondly, the toxic waste thing. thats because the tutorials i looked at recomended using a bright background to contrast with the drawing, unfortunately i forgot to remove it.

 

and the glass thing. Like i said i'm only a beginner, so currently no, i dont have the skill. maybe i will eventually. i'll start work on editing the second one tomorrow to include all of your recomendations, chances are i'll make a complete balls up of it though.

The #1 rule in pixel art: Black lines are a big no-no.

i still haven't finished it, but heres what i've got.

changes include:

 

gettitng rid of the toxic waste

getting rid of the black lines

adding a games room and making the windows transparent

adding detail to the mansion

1. how do you make pixel plants?

2. how can i make a decent gravel texture for my drive?

3. any suggestions on how to detail it? (i'm going to add some more windows)

Looks really good If your skilled enough, then why not put a helicopter on the helipad? Oh and what program are you using?

photoshop cs, and i tried doing a car for the garage and got stuck, so a helicopter is probably out of the question

erm, just pencil. you have to zoom in to around 1600% and draw each pixel.

 

try googling for a tutorial, i cant find the one i used.

i've left the mansion, i think to make it look really good i would have to do it again from scratch. instead, i've gone back to more simple things, here is a little suburban house:

anyway... as far as the mansion, you improved it greatly. the suburban house is good too, but as said before, i would change the color. i like the tree...

 

i've never tried any pixel art stuff, but too me it seems like you did good for your first try...

Those look really good Clown. As niteangel said, mybe changing the color of the doors on the houses, but apart from that, they look very nice

Looking really good Clown. If I had one criticism though, to me, the right side of the roof looks slightly wider than the left. Probably justthe perspective, not a major problem.

i'va added some cars and a park. i'm not very good with vehicles, so my cars might look a bit crappy.

 

@pcj, both sides of the roof are the same size.

there, this is the final version of my street for two reasons.

1. i've run out of space.

2. i've gone blind.

 

now it contains four houses and a pub (which i think is a bit off scale.)

i've taken some of your advice into account - and completely disregarded some of it because it would take to long, or is beyond my skill.

Looks great, but just to be annoying, I think you should put some tables on the Pubs back garden
