GraphitePen
I've been playing GTA SA for 3 weeks now and suddenly, sometime in the last 4 days, 2 problems appeared: 1. At certain times when driving, the game suddenly plays slowly. eg- driving a fast car and speeding down the freeway, then when I crash into something (sometimes even right before) the game slows noticeably almost to the point of how it is during a "unique stunt" jump. 2. In dancing and car-bouncing mini games the arrows don't slide along smoothly but rather jump out of place so that it's impossibe to time it right. Again, this is something that started pretty much out of the blue. The only thing I installed on the computer in this time is the game "Rocket Jockey" which is a win95 game and is not XP compatible. I needed to make some changes to some registry entries as listed here . I doubt this had anything to do with it seeing as how all of the changes to the registry were either Rocket Jockey specific or new keys that I created. My specs are: WinXP pro SP2 ABIT AW8-MAX intel P4 3.2 GHz S775-64bit ABIT Radeon RX600 XT-PCIE 128MB SPECTEK 256MB-533Mhz DDR2 The computer on which this problem has appeared on is new. The game play was fine for a full week (one week on the old computer, one week on the new, and a few more days until the problems started). I've tried changing the advanced display options to AA off, draw distance to minimum, 800X600X32, frame limiter on, vis fx low, mip map off... but it only seems to help with the first problem so that it doesn't really matter. I could handle the slow crashing but i can't even get passed the Cesar Vielpando mission (seeing as how i had to start over when i accidentally erased my saved game). I have DirectX 9.0c but I've noticed mention on the forum of rolling back to 9.0b . Should I do this? Again, the computer is new so that I'm pretty sure that all the drivers are up to date. What should I do?
dertyjerzian
You should patch the game or ask in the post-your-save topic if someone can finish that mission for you. Those are your two options
GraphitePen
What do you mean by "patch the game"? I don't understand. As to the second suggestion, having someone else pass the mission for me would be rather impracticle considering the fact that later missions also require dancing and such... I would have to find someone to finish those missions on their computers too. Ideally, there is something that will fix the problem. So, if you could explain what you mean, I hope that will be the answer.
Mike0
There is a patch or an ''update'' awailable for the game. It is patch version 1.01. It fixes some issues in the game. You can get the patch here:the patches just choose which version of the game you have. Be warned. After patching, the settings go to default. So you have to set the options again.
