Mike0
Post your specs. Also, dont compare Vice City to San Andreas. Those are two different games. San Andreas is not an addon for Vice City.
stekun
Here are my specifications: Veld Waarde Systeemgeheugen 1024 MB (DDR SDRAM) Veld Waarde Video kaart GeForce 6610 XL (128 MB) Veld Waarde Geluidskaart Intel 82801FB ICH6 - High Definition Audio Controller [b-1] Veld Waarde CPU Type Intel Pentium 4E, 3400 MHz (17 x 200) The pc is not a problem, I think can I get it to run faster? Mike0
Put the graphics to LOW, 800 x 600, AA off, MIPMAP off. Draw distance minimum. Then update the sound driver. That is very important. Put the frame limiter ON. Describe how does it play in slow motion. What does it look like.
stekun
hi It looks like the grapics are very slow. Example when I am driving and I press the brake button , the car doesn't stop at once. And when I am running it looks like it plays in slow motion. Sort of space walking, if u know what I mean. Get the picture? Please help me because I really like the game
Mike0
I get the picture. I saw it on many PCs. Try lowering sound accelaration.
stekun
ok thanks maybe stupid question. How do I Lower the sound acceleration? Ans where can I find updates foor the driver of the sound card?
SMG
Maybe you did the " SLOWITDOWN " cheat. You can make it go back to normal with " SPEEDITUP "
Mike0
START - RUN - DXDIAG.Then klick on SOUND and find the accelaration level. Put it to basic. Or standard. Your sound card is probably Intel. You can find it on intel.com. But you must find out exactly what sound card it is. Or don't bother if you don't have the time for it.

Mike0
If you type in ''SLOWITDOWN'' during the game, it activates a cheat which slows everything down. Maybe you used that cheat. But I doubt it since you don't know what it means. Couldn't you just get used to the slow motion.
GEO_Chris
yeh i had this problem when i first installed the game, it just glitches so bad it looks like its slow motion, so heres what i did Draw Distance = Minimum Visual Effects = Low Resolution = 800x600x16/640x800x16 etc AA = off then it worked fine, just got the odd glitch when u get alot of traffic and this is the spec of my comp AMD Athlon Xp 20.8 Ghz (runnin at 1.7Ghz for sum reason ) 256DDR Ram Elite K7S5A Motherboard 80Gb Samsung HDD (5,400rpm) MSI/ATi RX9250 GFX Card (128 DDR) Creative Sound Car (old one 1999) but the only prob is i get a funny squik noise in the sound and it makes the game clitch abit
Smellton
AMD Athlon Xp 20.8 Ghz (runnin at 1.7Ghz for sum reason dontgetit.gif ) 20.8 Ghz! Never heard of a PC going that fast, it must be a military computer. Anyway how slow is the game, is it REALLY slow?
GEO_Chris
well mine is not runin slow, just makes a squeekin noise in the sound and makes the radio stations glitch and the game abit also wat causes the black roads? will a new motherboard, RAM and sound car fix the probs
SMG
will a new motherboard, RAM and sound car fix the probs Get a new Graphics Card more than anything As far as underclocking on the K7S5A goes, I have one, and what you have to do is go into the BIOS and change the memory speed from 100mhz to 133mhz. It defaults to 100mhz by default when it should be 133mhz.
GEO_Chris
well it is basicly a new GFX Card, and i no it runs fine on a 128mb gfx card cos my m8s bro got a AMD64 with decent ram and a 128mb gfx card
SMG
The amount of memory on a Graphics Card is not the single performance measurement of how fast it's going to go. There is clockspeed, memory frequency, memory timings, pipelines, Hardware Shaders, and other things. A 9250 falls short of San Andreas minimum requirements of a "GeForce3 or better", and in short, a 9250 sucks and is one of the crappiest cards you can buy. The guy with an Athlon 64 probably has something better than a 9250, like a 128MB GeForce 6600GT, or 128MB X800XL. Get at least a 9600Pro 128MB MINIMUM if you want to have decent performance.. GEO_Chris
nope he has not to a Geforce, well cos i asked me mate wat it is and he goes its basicly the same as mine and his on his other comp he got also im getin black roads?
GTA3Freak-2001
If you've got a Athlon XP 2000+ then 1.7Ghz is right as that is what I have, the 2000+ only relates to the speed when compared to a Pentuim so even though its 1.7ghz is more like 2.0Ghz. Smellton
Get the patch if you don't have it and see if that fixes anything.
stekun
my video card is new. It is a Nvidia Geforce 6610 XL. I have put all the settings to minimum. my hardware and sound accelaration and all the game settings to low. and I have the patch. The problem is still there but it is less. I only have tehe problem while driving in a car with a lot of traffic, just like the other guy had. Is there anyway to fix that?
Mike0
Did you turn off antivirus, firewall and all that background apps.

Mike0
Maybe you are forcing AA and AF in the drivers. Check that.
stekun
u mean anti aliasing? That is turned off. what do u mean by af in the drivers?
GEO_Chris
well mines running alot better now got my new sound card and squeekin noise is gone, runs alot smoother but glitches when theres alot to load e.g traffic and in closed spaces, but u wud expect this if ur only runnin 256MB DDR ram lol
