Scriptkiddie
Hey all, I just bought GTA 3 for the pc because it is so cheap right now. I installed the game, and everything went fine. When I try to play the game, my pc wont read the play disc on my regular cd-rom player. When I put the play disc in my DVD drive, it runs but it takes ages to load. When I'm finally in the game, the cut scenes run incredably slow, and are out of sync. I have a Pentium 4, 3,2 GHZ, 1 GB DDR-Ram of intern Memory, Windows XP SP2 with a Geforce 4 graphics card. Does anyone has a clue on what is going on?

angrymule
A GF4 is not exactly known for it's superiour power either. You may need to lower your Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering levels as well as the screen resolution.
KING ANDY
It must be a problem with your disc because trails dosent effect you loading and your computer is good enough to run th game. You should go back and ask the store to replace your cd. Or maybe your cd slot is messed up. Im not a computer person so i wouldnt exactly know. Rob.
I had this problem when i tried to run the game, it was half the disc and half my computer, like Games Master said de-frag can help, but also try configuring you Direct X, with all the sound and Vdeo, alternatively go to Rockstar games and click on GTa3 and read the in the PC section the FAQ and download GTA3V1.1 that may help that all i can do to help
Demarest
download GTA3V1.1 that may help that all i can do to help The patch did not address I/O. To recommend it as a possible solution is ignorant. The rest of your post however I'm sure does quite well to address it
