Saggy
Well, my Grand AM started acting weirdly a little while after I got it. The fuel economy dropped a little bit from around 300 miles per tank, to 200 a tank. On top of that, the gague acts rather oddly. For example, I took my car home one night and it said there was a full tank of gas. The next day at lunch, it read 3/4 of a tank. Then later that afternoon, it again read a full tank. All three times I noted the fuel, I was parked and on level ground. I'm chalking it up to setiment in the gas tank blocking the floater, and there's no way anyone could be siphoning gas from me because I have a fuel door that only opens from the inside. Â Anyway, I ran a code-checker that came with the car, and I got a few weird codes out of the back of the book. It said something about 2nd gear switch, 3rd gear switch, and quad module switch. No idea wat any of it means, especially since I don't have a third gear. Â The book says that the codes may be different, so I was wondering if anyone could find the engine codes for a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM SE, and maybe tell me what's up with my gas. Â Also, the check oil light keeps coming on, even though I have plenty of oil, if that'll give you any hints. meth.
Check engine light is on to alert you to a problem so you or your mechanic can check the code, which you've done. Could be the o2 sensor and/or you may need a tune up if your plugs are old.
Mega
Your car is getting old. Check the electrics of the vehicle, actually, you have to base yourself only on what you see (full tank etc) and not on gauges. For that gas mileage problem, you said you got the car right? If you bought it are you sure of the mileage??? Liek the engine could be just turned to run good only for the sale... and could be dead otherwise. You should check your EFI system, it could be f*cked up. For them numbers i don't have a clue Signature soon.
Dup
Sounds like one of the sensors has gone and the ecu needs a remap. Â Just describe the problem in detail to a garage over the phone. They might know the problem well with the model of car. Â It certainly won't be a fix it yourself situation.
