Demarest
What are Code Tools? - Code mods that are made to work on or with your existing save game. How do I use them? - Save your current game. Backup your original /data/main.scm by renaming it to something like mainORIGINAL.scm. Put the SCM file from the ZIP you download into its place and make sure you rename it to main.scm like the original was. Load your game and most Code Tools will begin automatically. If it's a Code Tool that changes something about the game, save your game. Now replace your main.scm with the original one, load the save you just made, and continue playing as you normally would. What makes Code Tools so special? - First and foremost, because they are designed to work with your existing game, something previously thought next to impossible and/or worthless. Also, there are SOME things that trainers aren't made to do that some of the tools can. THE CURRENT COLLECTION OF GTA3 CODE TOOLS Ancestral Recall - How often do we see somebody asking what they might have left? Well GTA3 is capable of sealing missions, so nobody could ever answer this... until now. With Ancestral Recall, you'll know exactly what you have left to do to get 100%! To install Ancestral, you will additionally need to backup and replace your /TEXT/american.gxt like you did with your main.scm. When you load your game, you will hear 3 chimes letting you know the mod has started. It will continue to display everything you have left to do. When it's done scrolling through (or if you die or get arrested), it will chime 3 times and do it over again. When you've seen all you need to, replace your /data/main.scm with the one you backed up before, load your game again, and go do what you need to. Note: Ancestral Recall WILL alert you that you need to do Paramedic if you have not yet received hideout Health or Adrenaline. It will NOT alert you that you need to do Paramedic if you have those, but do not have infinite run. Either run and get tired or see a Paramedic level completed lower than 12 in your stats to know this. Missions that you have not yet passed and are sealed and can never be passed will appear in red instead of the usual white. You can use the Eureka Code Tool to credit you for those. Also, the american.gxt that comes with Ancestral Recall is the original game, plus the keys you need for AR as well as my Coordinator mod. So you can just leave it there if you'ld like. Demarest
Time Vault - This is just like the VC Time Vault and is made to replace Save N Play for simple "please pass this mission for me" requests. Once loaded, simply start whatever mission you want passed for you. You are credited with passing the mission if you haven't already passed it yourself. Notes: The mission Love's Disappearance has been left untouched. Missions that can only be done during certain times of day like Marty's Missions and a couple of Joey's can be done at any time of day. You do NOT need to be in front of the carpark to start Multi-Storey Mayhem; getting inside the Stallion that is always parked just inside the carpark will trigger the mission. Last but not least, passing Rumble will NOT remove the purple nines from the street. Doing so does not impact gameplay in any way, but will spare people from possibly getting the bug and later blaming Time Vault for it. Eureka - It bascially checks to see if you have any sealed missions. If you do, it credits you with passing them and has you save a game. So if your game is afflicted with sealed missions, Eureka will make 100% possible once again. Note: If you try using it on a savegame that has no sealed misisons, it will not allow you to save or even to play on. This is to prevent any needless fiddling with your save. Demarest
Wonder why the topics were merged... Anyways, just updated GTA3 Time Vault this morning. It now supports all Rampages and all Unique Jumps. With the UJ's, they behave as before, except that even if you fail it, you pass it. Also, I lowered the speed requirement for UJ's being triggered so they're easier to set off. Thanks to radioman who provoked this update that could've been done long ago

Demarest
Ancestral Recall on my game it continues to chime and display missions left in a loop. Thank you for the feedback that it works just as it said it would and was designed to. You might be happy to know that Ancestral Recall 2 is half finished and is even more useful than the first was. SMG384
Is the Time Vault tool only compatible with the PC version of GTA III? If it can also be used with the PS2, where can I find it?
Spuds725
Dem (banned now) claims to be able to make it work on PS2 and I don't doubt it, unfortunately he would have to modify the file (I don't know if its a main.scm on PS2 also) for it, replace it in the correct game directory, then burn a new game CD with the modified SCM.... then this disk would be used... you would then load your saved game with the modified CD let it pass the mission for you and then save then restart the game with your original disk to continue playing normally. I don't think Dem ever produced a PS2 timevault for VC or III... if he did I don't think he published it. Unfortunately the "burn new game CD" is warez and its discussion (on how) is not allowed on this site... It is still possible to download at least some of Demarests code tools via an archive of his site.... This is a snapshot of Demarest's site from Feb 2007.... most of the links do work--- some don't though... http://web.archive.org/web/20070216034144/...tfads.com/gta3/ //edit// This seems to be the most recent workable snapshot of his site...
