okay again... i've check it...

 

the Handling is good.. from the side it's okay, but from the Front... suicidal.gif

 

you've to make the Helo higher... its too flat. Also a lil bit smaller... This Bird is too.... fat biggrin.gif

 

and please scale the Turbines up tounge.gif

Its a modification of the Cargobob at heart. If it was scratch built then it would be a lot more accurate. Im afriad I dont have the time to create huge scratch built models like I did the ducati. If I spend ages on a project I quickly lose interest (other modders will probably agree). I cannot balance my work, my voluntary job and my gf very well with modding. Back in the days of the ducati I was doing my A-Lvls, so I had quite a bit of spare time..which resulted in the Ducati, now it is not so.

I may change the Chinook, but I mainly mod for myself..If I modded for the community id have it payware tbh, because alot of people simply arent grateful for the work. So what if its not accurate? I love aviation, but Im not gonna spend another 5+ hours working on it just to change the fact that its a little thinner. If you want to know why its so fat...Then try getting out and into a car in the back when its thinner, its that fat for a reason..Gameplay issues are one of the biggest walls to climb for modders...If its was like its RL counterpart, then you wouldnt be able to enter the car while in the back..the cars would collid alot more, thus resulting in more flying explosions, also you wouldnt be able to fit the different types of car as you can in my mod.

the whole cockpit looks really nice great work with it

havn't managed to carry a car mor than 2 mins yet but I think i'm parking them too close to the front of the heli

I know, that it's build on the "Cargobob" and I know, that you will flying Cars around with it...

 

I understand a lot of airplanes and helis and only want to help you...

 

and nobody has sayed, that you have to make it from scratch !

 

I think, that you only have to make it higher and a lil bit longer. And let the coll - model as it is, so you dont have any problems with the cars inside wink.gif

Chinook V1.1

 

Ive updated it to fix the rotor collision with some vehicles, made it more steady on landing, scaled the turbines. Ive also changed the surface of the back to make vehicles more stable in different weather conditions, but Ive not seen no change confused.gif

awesome chopper!!!!! doesnt carry the cars tho.... they just bounce around and blow up, or fall out the back even though it is the fixed version. Is there something I did wrong in the installation, or is this just a side effect of the SA physics engine?

 

I noticed that when the cars are loaded on the packer, that the wheels of the cars on the back will actually spin the opposite direction that the truck is traveling, giving it a little more stability (not much). I dunno just somethin I noticed that maybe you experienced modders could use.

 

Would be great if the door in the back went up and down, then we could just trap them suckers in there.

*Fixed Collision meshing, its now a lot more precise with the model

*Fixed Found the ID of the packer mesh. The interior of the Chinook now has the same surface data

*Changed the camo yellow window texture

*Changed the length of the boot collision, it can now hold a few vehicles

I will DL this as soon as I'm home from work, loving the origonal one so this should be good.

I found reducint the thrust and pitch angles improves vehicle carrying vastly, low top speed is a side effect though. Maybe with the new interior design I will be able to up the speed and tilt.

If I crack it I will post the handling settings in here.

EDIT: as for the size and scale whingers, I would rather it was larger, only slightly mind. Can't quite get a rhino in the back.

i found a sort of bug :

 

the rotors are higher but if you are on the highway and a car bumps into you the rotors still hit that car but the rotors of the chinook are higher then where the car collide, it's still the same height as the leviathan.
