Demarest Posted August 15, 2005 Author Share Posted August 15, 2005 Fido is not an insult, it's a name, and to most of us, his name You know? @snaporaz: You say you don't like Fido because you view it as an insult, but you missed the point of the thread which questions how useful Claude is because it sounds like a member of Queer Eye for The Striaght Guy or whatever than it does the main character of a GRAND THEFT AUTO game. It's the same concept. You can't hold one on trial for a reason, but swear by the other totally disregarding that same reason! Fido IS the name of a lapdog and Fido IS an insult. It is also the only name we had for over 2 years. This thread is about why we would suddenly start calling his something different just because some corporation told us to? Especially something so questionable. You can accost the process of wanting the name to be hardcore all you want, but the fact remains that you play a character the likes of which wouldn't last more than 2 days if he existed in the real world. I'm also pretty sure that Maria calls him Fido because she means that he's her lapdog because he was taking her around town. That was the only real time when anybody gave him any sort of name.
