papanesta
Totally loved it. The bit with the polar bear was great. Though, when they killed it, and one of the people that went to the cockpit mentioned the killing of the pilot, why didn't the others go: "Huh? What do you mean KILLED the pilot?" I loved liking the characters to who they might be from the adverts. The "One of us is a murderer." and all that. I didn't get to see the third episode because my mate's Freeview box was broken, bugger. Can't wait for the next episode though. Totally getting the DVDs, if they release them. spoof
I watched the first two episodes on C4 the other night. Tidy production value and most enjoyable, but I wanted to know a bit more before I made it a one to watch. After reviewing fairly detailed episode guides for the rest of the season, I came to the conclusion that: There's a lot of attempted character building via numerous flashbacks, but not much else happens. I don't think I'll be making an effort to follow this show
Officer Pulaski
Also somebody tell me, how the hell the dog survived? It would've been where all the luggage was in a cage & surely wouldn't have survived? I missed the opening 15 minutes when the plane crashed, so excuse me if i am wrong, but who says the dog was on the plane to start off with? I haven't seen the second part of the pilot episode, as i was out, but i recorded it and shall be watching it soon so that i catch up with what is going on. they have A LOT of flashbacks, showing like everyones personnel life i dont think this was a good idea for a show, it wasnt enough to just ake it about people stranded on an island they had to make a bunch of weird crap, so that it would actually have a story to it and not just be Gilligan's Island SPOILER THAT TELLS OF FINALE okay the last episode was dumb as hell weird guy on fishing boat: oh were gonna go take your kid, even though none of you have anything of value and nother does the kid kid's father: no weird guy: give em! that goes on for a while, then that guy takes out a gun, and gets shot wow, good job guys, you kidnapped someone that you didnt even know, and cant be used ransom unless they want to use him for sexual benefits (weird...) i dont see the point in it

The dog belongs to the young African-American boy, Walt, who was on the plane with his father returning to the States. And you missed the first 15 minutes, which is like the coolest part when the plane goes down. I love this show, as I've said before. I can't wait for Season 2. Yeah it's the little kids, but if the plane landed as it did then every living thing in the baggage area would've died, unless it's something weird like a dream or something along them lines. ipub
I watched the first 4 or 3 episodes, it's difficult for me to get into it, a bit too american if you know what i mean. It's alright though and seeing as there's nothing else to do, might as well watch it.
Wolfwood
I caught a few bits and pieces of the first two episdoes, but was more or less hooked on the adverts. I taped them and will watch them later, but from what I saw, it looks great and the whole storyline/concept of it seems amazing and interesting towards me. Andyzoot
If there was one thing I didn't like about Lost it was the amount of advert breaks. THey were about every 15 minutes. For a one hour program i expect them to be every 20 minutes. Plus those 118 118 things are really annoying. I don't know why but all the adverts made to be played before and after each part are always crap for every program that they are made for. Brown Streak RR
Yes. On the note of the dog, it surviving is very unrealistic. I like to follow avaiation a bit, and that was what orginally hooked me onto the show (fictional air disaster stories are rare these days...). Landing as it did, it's amazing the people themselves survived. Really. But the dog? That's stretching it. Really. But, hey, it's TV. Another thing, the show does mainly focus it's first season on character developments. Seriously. Like all the time. We learn about some of the survivors and learned how they ended up on Oceanic 815, where the were going, and who they were before they boarded that fateful flight. What this has to do with yet, we don't know. All I can say is I hope the show now starts to focus on real-time events, rather than flashbacks and the characters. Like, for example the Polar Bear and the weird monster that inhabits the island. Or even why the plane went down, or who the 'Others' are. We have a lot to learn. Yes, the first go-round is all about the people, but I think it's worth it. I'm hooked onto the show, even just after initially watching it because of the plane crash. I don't know why but all the adverts made to be played before and after each part are always crap for every program that they are made for. This also annoyed me and my parents, and we worked out that if you took out all the adverts, then the show would actually only be about 20 minutes long. I kind of thought that they put so many adverts in because it was a highly rated show, and so many people would be watching it, hence the best channel to put all the adverts on would be C4 between LOST. Some theories on the programme mentioned in the Daily Mail:- •It's all a dream, and they are all dead •Aliens created the island and brought the plane down •They made the plane crash on purpose to test surviving techniques Hmmmm... Brown Streak RR
So polar bears and strange black cloudy swarms of unknown matter are okay, but the dog surviving is not? No! Not at all. I was just adressing that issue first. Of course those disturb me. I'm curious as to find out what the hell they were doing there and why. @Chunks: Interesting theories, but old. Although, I will say I will never fly Oceanic Airlines if they plot to bring down their own planes to see how well people survive!
papanesta
I was thinking about the Bermuda Triangle, and all the weird disappearances of planes and such. But then again, I'm pretty sure the flight path would have been nowhere near it... That's correct. Unless you really suck at geography, Oceanic 815's flight plan was from Sydney to Los Angeles. No where near the Bermuda Triangle. According to approximations and such from fans, the plane went down somewhere northeast of Australia on an unknown Pacific island. Chunks
@Chunks: Interesting theories, but old. Of course they are old theories because the newspaper got them all from American fan sites of the show, and gathered all the information from there. It kind of annoyed me though because i turned the page and it spoilt the show for me. Any English fans who missed the first two parts can watch them again tonight, on Channel 4, from 10:40pm. Raindancer
Loved it. i wated the first two ep's on 3 then switched over to E4 for the next one. The only thing which pisses me off is all that polar bear crap. Did anyone ever see Lord of the flies? Lost has a lot of similararities to that film. Cant wait till next wednesday. Goodfella.
Yeah, I love Lord of the Flies, if you like the conecpt of Lost give that film a watch. Weird thing is, I kinda wanted to be trapped on a deserted Island when I was younger, aslong as there were hot chicks... wait, I still want to be trapped on a deserted island with hot chicks, eventually they'd give in. \o/

I've seen them both now, and will see the third whenever it's repeated on E4, which is tomorrow right? 21 episodes in a row would be about 16 hours by the way, as opposed to well, 2. Those 118 adverts are f*ckign annoying though - I don't want to see some pisstake of the show in the all too frequent adverts. Really good so far, I know fine rightly it's going to be very drawn out but that's the point, intriguing and the like. As for the Chinese man and woman, I was talking with my friend and said 'he regretted it', and my mate didn't have a clue what I was on about. Was it not obvious to everybody else that he had poisoned the fish-type food, and regretted giving it to the woman once she was all "Zomg feel", which was why he didn't want to and rushed off? Or am I just reading to far into it, or falling for a plot trap? I'm scanning this topic for peoples' flags before reading their posts, it's amazing how some people can be so laxed about spoilers.. S'not on.
papanesta
Nah, I think him and his wife have been/are very close. Though, thrown into this situation, he has decided to help out by giving people some form of entertainment/nourishment. He was shocked and ran away because, him and his wife being so tight nit (notice her doing up her button on his command), he probably hasn't touched that many other women, nevermind on the stomach at such an important time. Just a thought.
