Hotcoffee was neat...the first time I saw it, now it seems a little juvenile (plus it frustrates me that I can't find two male peds from the game that are similar in texture layout and appearence, as well as sound files to make Cj a boyfriend-I am so tired of all the friggin' tits). I will install the patch eventually (more than likely), but it won't come within a 10 mile radius of my computer until Camera Hack, The car spawner with teleportation and the most important part of all (that noone has mentioned yet) a nocd patch are made to be compatible with it.

 

Make a boyfriend for CJ? Then the mod would have to have its name changed to "Hot Brown Sticky Ring Donut" mod

I think that this patch is great. I don't use use Hot Coffee, and this patch fixes a lot of troublesome bugs such as not being able to bind to NUM5, Audio Glitches and having a period in your Windows username without having to stuff around with half-baked workarounds.

 

If you have a problem with this patch, want to start a class action, blah blah blah. It's entirely your choice to patch or not. You are not required by law or force to patch it. If you are still dis-satisfied, return the game to your retailer for a full refund of the purchase price (as you you were not warned of the "Sex Scenes" before buying the game, and as a indirect result of it, the patches arn't up to your standard). Otherwise shut up.

 

Some GTA:SA Memory locations will need to be found out again. I guess a new thread in the editing discussion for 1.1 addresses should be created if it hasn't yet. Nothing worst than applying a new Windows Service Pack. Sure there are incompatabilities at first, but all the software that doesn't work after will quickly be fixed in later versions.

 

All I want to know, is what is the difference between the German, US, and European/Australian gta_sa.exe versions? And were they always different versions in 1.0? I hope that memory locations would still be the same across 1.1 gta_sa.exe versions.

You have to use a cracked .exe which violates the TOS and copyright laws. So yeah, talking about them here isn't accepted.

Yeah but the patch does nothing for those having performance issues which lie within the game and not the hardware. I meet all recommended specs and surpass one so its not my end that's the problem Especially when Vice is a stable 40+ and SA is a jumpy 19 to 25 FPS.

I dont know why but the patch made my game run better. I can now turn up the visual quality to Very High without slow downs. And my game won't slow to a crawl with nitro!

I was using Space Einstien? all in 1 mod and it wouldn't load my saved game. So i decided to check out the main.smc and script file and changed it back to the mod. Then it booted up. Hot coffee dont work readme dont say sh*t. Worst of all Camhack dont work either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Do not get this bull crap it will mess up your game!!! I bought this game to have mods in it to make it have replay value but now R* don't want that??? well now I got to reinstall everything and am pissed off!

The patch replaces any modified mission scripts with the originals. You are free to re-replace them after patching.

I installed first since the changes dont say that it will affect mods and such. Then AFTER the problem I come here ok?

@GTA3 - If you'd read through this topic you'd find that exactly like Vice City programs like the Cam Hack and Carspawner need updates to work with the newer version. So basially there's no restriction on modding with this patch.

You bitch about mods not working, well what do you expect when the data is located in different areas of the memory now. It doesnt take much for these modders to find the new location.

I'll make a disk image before I download this patch. I make EXTENSIVE use of the teleport and windowed mods, so it if it borks those, I can't use the patch until/if those mods are updated.

 

It would have been nice if the Num5 bug hadn't existed to start with. I'm so used to the workaround (num/ - num8 - num7 - num9) that it'd seem weird to use it properly.

I'll admit I don't know about programming so this may be a dumb question but ..... Could Rockstar have gotten rid of Hot Coffee by makinng a patch that just removes the sex scenes from the main.scm and then made the other bug fixes without messing with the modding capabiltiies?

Leave it to Rockstar to turn a good thing (patch) into a bad thing(need new mods). This makes me wonder if they had this patch set up for a long time but just didn't release it until the Hot Coffee dispute was settled.

 

By the way I had to rewrite my post a few times so it wouldn't sound like I was bitching.

The Hot Coffee mod IS a new SCM. If the patch replaced only that, all you'd need to do was reinstall Hot Coffee.

I was under the impression that the Hot Coffee was in the game already and the mod just unlocked it. So I thought that if they removed it from the game then unlocking it would do nothing cause the graphics and script aren't there there.

Well I installed the patch and guess what? It hasn't fixed the lockups I get when swapping cars - the one bug that makes the game pretty unplayable

 

OK - so I've only played it for five minutes with the patch installed but the moment it gave me the same crash as usual I just gave up... I think it's safe to assume they've rushed out a patch to kill hotcoffee without making sure it fixes all the bugs - so yep, looks like PR rather than a genuine effort to sort out playability problems. I'll try again when I've calmed down but, sadly, I suspect my copy of SA will be winging its way back to R* with a request for a refund.

 

I'll wait till the problem is definitively fixed (assuming that ever happens) then I might go out and buy it again - by which point it'll probably be on budget - where such bugged software belongs... They should be paying us for doing their quality assurance

It just doesn't appear to work for some vehicles - post on page two says that the News van stays dirty.

Pay'n'spray instantly cleans any dirty car.

Driving in shallow water and over fire hydrants cleans the car slowly

Driving on sand and dirtroads dirties up the car gradually.

Rain Also Cleans cars. It cleaned up the news van i was driving.
