PC patch up...

I've downloaded and installed the patch but now i'm getting this error....

 

 

I have no idea what the hell that is....

Do you have like, Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% or anything like that installed?

I've never even installed the hot coffee mod, never thought about installing it either. This patch fixes usless things that have been fixed by modders anyhow.

 

 

But the bastards still aint fixed the Replays, they are buggy as hell

I'll reserve judgment if this was worth installing until after I've tested it, though TBH Hot Coffe sounds fairly tedious so no great loss there. Also I suspect that if mods can still be installed, someone can just take the original content and add it in a new mod... wouldn't be surprised if it's out within a week.

 

What I want to know is whether it fixes all the bugs that have made it a total nightmare to play - crashing at every opportunity is not my idea of fun. Here goes...

Nah, i dont have thing like that...just imesh but I dont even use that anymore. I have emulators and roms for old systems but thats about it as far as emulators.

Bad news....even with patch my game locked up in 5 min. Seems most of my crashes/lockups are caused if I have the radio on. If I play with the radio on IM gaurenteed to have a lockup within 10 min.

 

This is crap.... I can run HL2, Doom3, BF2, and many other new games with no problems.

 

If I was a lawyer I would get all of us that bought this piece of sh*t, and start a class action lawsuit against R*......

 

Im so pissed....I have waited forever to play this on PC.... and its BARELY playable for me, and totally unplayable for others.

Aright, the patch sounds like it has some pros, but what I'd like is for the game to run smoother, cause other games I have run soo much better, it's quire rediculous how framerate-lagged this gets, especially in Las Venturas...

 

The idea of no dll mods scare me, as I bet that's exaclty what MTA does, probably same with the others...

this is a lame patch, the main goal of it is to fix hot coffee.

sa is protected by SecuRomv7.

 

the patch doesn't add it, it's already in the game cd.

Strange, I have a legit copy, but I'm still running Daemon Tools, and I've never got that error.

 

Of course, I haven't actually tried the patch yet

This patch is idiotic, useless, and pointless. I dont use hot coffee, so I dont need this. Why would I need to lock out something I dont intend to use at all? And as for cleaning cars, can someone actually ANSWER exactly what has changed. Does the Pay & Spray actually disable the cargrunge256 texture? Are the carwashes completed? Does rain do the job? Saving your car in a garage?

 

This game doesnt need a useless patch like this. We need an expansion for SA, with everything restored that was uncompleted or deleted in the primary development phase(tons of more missions, building casinoes, carwashes, etc.)

Hmm interesting, my only hesitation is the .dll mod disabling thing, hot coffee means nothing to me since its a one shot gimmick once you've seen it, that's it.

 

I just hope this fixes my horrible performance that compared to my hardware is just crazy.

The only "hot coffee" modified part of my SA installation is the save game file in My Documents. I'm not bothered losing that part of the game, but the lack of substantial bug fixes is a concern. The patch is more to do with Rockstar trying to save its own a$$ instead of a proper patch for PC users.

 

What about PS2 and Xbox versions?

 

The way the spiel on nomorehotcoffee.com is worded, Rockstar still sounds like it's the victim of a "hacker"

The sa-mp team actually put development of their client on hold to await the patch...I think the best thing to do would be to try to spread the word to gamers here NOT to install it. It's not like any of you are gonna sleepwalk, boot up your pc, and install hot coffee, we dont need this mod, R* should just re-release SA WITHOUT the content, and not prevent dll using mods.

I get the feeling Rockstar have more than a little contempt for the PC version and community. And after they got caught out in a lie (though their lawyers word their replies so as to not point the finger at themselves...), even more so.

 

They will have to repress/rerelease the game here in Australia, since the game is now banned and off the shelves.

Uh, you do realise that the reason DLL mods don't work with the patch is because the EXE layout has changed?

 

It's not a deliberate attempt to stop modding, even the Hot Coffee patch ONLY removes access to certain models and animations. EVERYTHING else works fine.

 

Patch if you feel it's warranted. It won't make things worse, at least.

 

[EDIT]Remember, ALL DLL and memory hacks are likely to be effected. This includes programs like the Admin Console, SAAC, etc.

Yeah, just like GTA3 and Vice City, all that's needed is to find out by how much the memory addresses have shifted and add support for the patch.

Yeah the Cam Hack, Car Spawner all fail to work, its just a case of new versions being created.

 

@westside - Just because there are several forums where this could of been posted doesn't mean we need to have a topic in all of them. Also the Troubleshooting forum is not just for PC but all versions. There's no point argueing with a member of staff, its done so quit complaining.

Well have no fears about permanent damage from the patch if you want to try it. I reinstalled with no prblems and the game runs like it did before. The only crap thing is I have to reinstall all my cars and clothes...

Hotcoffee was neat...the first time I saw it, now it seems a little juvenile (plus it frustrates me that I can't find two male peds from the game that are similar in texture layout and appearence, as well as sound files to make Cj a boyfriend-I am so tired of all the friggin' tits). I will install the patch eventually (more than likely), but it won't come within a 10 mile radius of my computer until Camera Hack and the car spawner with teleportation are made to be compatible with it.
