1) I'm not sure about 2-player on PC, but I don't think you can.

 

2) Yes you are able to play basketball on any version

Player is a definite no-no on the PC. Sadly.

 

Still. We do get Hot Coffee easily, and a nice Multiplayer mod.

in American.gxt file there are stuff of the 2 player option like :

 

Player 2 : Push ~k~~GO_LEFT~ or ~k~~GO_RIGHT~ to select a character.~N~~k~~PED_SPRINT~ Select

 

~s~Free roam around the city.

 

~s~You can kiss the other player by standing near them and pressing ~k~~PED_ANSWER_PHONE~.

 

~r~Player one was killed

 

2p Run Around

~r~Player two was killed

 

 

and there is much more, too bad there is no 2 player in PC

Just like in Vice City, the modding crowd is busy creating multiplayer support for GTA-SA. They called it Multi-theft Auto. Google it, I'm sure you will find a current status on the project.

 

The good news is, when they get it working as well as multitheft auto, it will be 'true' multiplayer, not the hobbled 2 player version the PS2 has now.
