Carmods (opcodes)

Recommended Posts

Demarest

@nubbel: Have you written a little snippet to test that one opcode, just to make sure? If so, post it please.

@Patrick: When you say get... I just assumed you meant current. But then you have a get_modprice. Get from where? Are the prices of the addons hardcoded like they are for type 1 pickups?

I use the "get_" prefix whenever an opcode is used to "return" an attribute of an object. If it is an attribute that can be changed, than it is of course the current value.

The information about the carmods ( lists, prices, names ) are configured in the shopping.dat file. That file also contains the prices and and attributes of other buyable items in the game like: food, clothes, haircuts, tattoos...

The first 6 opcodes in my list, can also be used to retrieve information about those items. Maybe the opcodes in that lists should be renamed to indicate that they apply to "buyables" instead of "mods".

...i saw here and there some opcodes...that's ok, but how do i use em? of course it is not just choose an opcode that does what i want, and paste it into the script...what i mean is...for example...if i want to have hydraulics in every car i drive, what is the opcode to choose, and what is the code to put?? damn im confused, i saw opcodes like:

06e9 = load_carmod(mod_id);06ea = is_carmod_loaded( mod_id );06eb = release_carmod(mod_id);06e6 = get_carmodtype( mod_id, &mod_type );096d = get_installed_carmod( car, mod_type, &mod_id);06e7 = install_carmod( car, mod_id, &dummy_var);06E9: request_car_component #MODNAME06E7: $var = add_car_component #MODNAME to_car $car

these ones...im sure at least one of these can be used for the example i gave...

do i need to "atach" some opcode to a code that does something when i press a button?
