You can get it when you get all GOLD in Driving School.

The only other way is entering 'Funhouse' cheat. There will be Hotknifes driving around

There are other ways that don't involve a cheat that will corrupt your saved games, if you're on PC.

 

cargrp.dat specifies what groups of people drive specific types of cars. This file is the reason why you don't see Ballas hoods driving an Infernus or something equally exotic.

 

vehicles.ide controls the frequency at which various vehicles are seen on the streets.

 

I've never messed with these particular files, so I can't say much more about them. I'm sure someone around here knows more than I do and can help you.

The only other way i've been able to get the hotknife is by doing vigilante missions in LS on the police bike. Although rare, when the criminals were in a hotknife so I just got off the bike stole the hotknife and saved it in a garage after time ran out. It's happened to me twice.

Yup.. very rare in vigilante. It's really nothing special. I like the infernus better .

You can also occasionally see them while doing firetruck missions.

Or you can use the GTASA Admin console to spawn them in your garages. Much easier I think.

So THAT'S what that sumbitch is called. I too have seen it while doing the Vigilante mission near the Panopticon (on a cop bike). I thought I was hallucinating. It reminded me of Grandpa's tricked-out car in an old TV show called the Munsters. Now that I know I can get one by doing the Driving School Missions I guess I can stop doing the Vigilante missions just to try and 'jack one.

 

Then again, maybe not. It's a pretty cool looking ride and the Vigilante mission is tons 'o fun.

For me the best way is to complete the driving school with all tests gold, I taken about 1 hour to do the driving school with gold and I think that in the firetruck and vigilante missions it takes much longer that one hour.

These are the possible ways:

 

1) Do vigilante missions until any of the criminals is in a Hotknife and then jack it and park it in one of your garages.

 

2) Do firefighter missions until one of the vehicles is a Hotknife, the put out the fire and CAREFULLY drive it to a garage and park it.

 

3) Do the Funhouse cheat.

 

4) Do the Rare Cars Regularly cheat.

 

5) Get all golds in driving school and it'll be parked outside driving school as a prize.

 

6) Use a trainer like GTA SA Admin Console, which can be downloaded here to spawn one into your garage.

I wasn't aware they showed up in the Fire Truck mission also...Haven't done that yet...I'll have to keep an eye out for one.

 

Not that I have anything against anyone who does, but I don't use cheats...Why not just buy the game and have someone else play it for you is how I look at cheats...Then they can tell you how fun it was...Nope, just not my style.
