Zackh123
I added some info to the Wikipedia article the other day. When I went to the page this morning someone added that the Hot Coffee mod is illegal. "Installing this patch may be illegal and subject to criminal penalties in some jurisdictions, and is a breach of contract which could lead to civil penalties. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_coffee_mod WTF?! Anyway, if anyone here wants to add to the article please do. I would think the mod community would know a whole lot more about these legal issues. EmSixTeen
I'll not be touching the Wiki entry, but it's not illegal. Modding the game is not illegal in the slightest, and is in fact embraced by Rockstar.. All their complaining at now is that someone happened to uncover something they f*ck up with. Basically, if you're not re-distributing a modded game, selling it, or any somesuch, then all is grand. As far as I know, that is. @kippers - You've no idea what you're talking about, evidently. It's not the watching it, it's the installing and modifying the game's content.
Zackh123
It's been edited now. "Installing a patch isn't illegal. The game was never reverse engineered. The mod was created by editing the scripts. Something that was encouraged by Rockstar until this happened." BTW, one thing I've been wondering about is all of those comments that Rockstar has made about adding extra security to the SA game. Are they going to remove the ability to edit the game in future releases?

Boll Weevil
If it's gonna cause rumours and totally takes the fun out of playing it then the answer can only be yes. I don't understand why this whole "Hot Coffee" thing was made. Why don't you just settle down with a Porn DVD?

I don't understand why this whole "Hot Coffee" thing was made. Why don't you just settle down with a Porn DVD? But allowing GTA to be editable has also led to some pretty cool stuff being made. The multi-player mods, all of those cool cars, and all sorts of other stuff. It would be a shame to see all of that disappear because of something Rockstar made themselves.
