Demarest
Yes there is. Btw, modding questions go in the modding forum.
SlicedCheese
I didn't know this was modding, can you tell me how to change name?
Demarest
All in game text is contained in the /TEXT/american.gxt file. Grab CyQ's ViceGXT, look for where it says MP3 Station and change the name.
SlicedCheese
Everytime i click Load on ViceGXT it says File/Path Access error. FIXED Edited August 4, 2005 by SlicedCheese
Demarest
Since you didn't uncheck read only, I'm going to assume you didn't backup up either, eh?

Hey Demarest, i found the american.gxt file in the text folder but i can't open it. It's not a word file or anyhting. I managed to open it with wordpad and notepad though and i can't find mp3 station or radio or anything. And what's CyQ's ViceGXT?? Where is that? Dillyracer
and how do you do that for san andreas ? i loaded american.gxt and searched for mp3. And it says no entry found ?
JohnnySBS
Somethign so simple is so hard for some. Load the gxt editor, Load american.gxt, Search for mp3, You should find the text mp3 player, Cange it to whateva and save. But that's exactly my problem. I don't have any search feature on this little program [vice gxt]. I load the american.gxt file but there's hundreds of of key tables and keys but no mp3 player or anything like that, not even something like audio or radio station or something. F**K!! JohnnySBS
I found the FEA MP3 thing in the MAIN key table but i can't rename it says "runtime error". Maybe the ViceGXT is f**ked, can someone point out a good link to download a better version?? For Vice City of course?
Demarest
Maybe the ViceGXT is f**ked Being the only fully functional VC GXT editor last time I checked, maybe you're f*cked I mean, how do you propose to modify a file that is set to read only? Rule 2 of modding: uncheck read only. Since you're unaware of that, I should probably mention rule 1: backup.
JohnnySBS
Hey i wanna thank each and everyone of you for helping me with this I finally made it work. Hell Yeah, much better!! They need to put this custom radio feature in their next games, wouldn't you agree? I mean who the hell wants to tune in to .."mp3 player"? it just sucks. Thanx
Demarest
The name never even effected me. Being able to listen to my music as well as hotkey to it is good enough for me
